Qigong with Kseny

🎃👻 Spooky season reminder: it’s not just the decorations that have skeletons… we all do.

And unlike the plastic ones hanging on your neighbour’s porch, yours needs a little more love to stay strong, hydrated and resilient!

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the strength of our bones is closely linked to the energetic properties of our Kidneys — the deep reservoirs of our life force and longevity.

So this Halloween, I’m inviting you to join me for a special Qigong practice to nourish your bones, support stability and give your spine the gentle attention it deserves.

Qigong with Kseny

On Sunday’s Zoom, we spoke about how the energy of the season shifts from the vibrant activity of summer into the slower rhythm of autumn. Yet many of us keep moving at the same pace and our bodies and emotions begin to feel the strain.

In TCM, autumn invites us to slow down and breathe deeper.

Daily breathing practice expands the chest, regulates the flow of energy through the heart center, and creates space for lightness — both physically and emotionally.

Today’s calendar practice is one of my favourite for this time of year. It sets the tone for the day, clears the head, and gently lifts lingering emotions like sorrow or sadness.

Take just 15 minutes to reset your energy, and let your breath guide you into autumn with ease. 🍂

Strong Feet, Strong Body.

Your feet are more powerful than we think!

They support us, ground us and in Traditional Chinese Medicine, they connect us to the Earth element that give us stability, nourishment and balance.

The Late Summer (corresponds to the Earth element) is the perfect time to strengthen your foundation so you feel more balanced and supported from the ground up.

Western science agrees: strong, mobile feet protect your knees, hips, and lower back, and improve your balance as you age.

We’ll work on gentle but powerful movements to:
✔️ Awaken Kidney energy (Kidney 1)
✔️ Support Stomach/Spleen Qi for stability and digestion
✔️ Improve circulation in the lower body

Try today's video and experience how rooted feet create a lighter, more energised body. 😊

Qigong For Late Summer 🌾

If you’ve been enjoying practicing Qigong with the seasons (Five Element Theory), you may have heard of the Earth phase—a short but powerful period in the Chinese calendar that corresponds to Late Summer.
This phase is the bridge between Summer and Autumn—a time to gather yourself after the expansive (Yang) energy of Summer and gently prepare for the more inward (Yin) turn of Autumn.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Earth element represents stability, nourishment, and transformation, and is connected to the Spleen and Stomach organ systems.

🌿 Physically, these organs transform food and fluids into blood and energy.
🌿 Energetically, they help us process thoughts, emotions, and life experiences.

When Earth energy is strong, we feel grounded, mentally clear, and energetically stable.
When it's depleted—by stress, heavy foods, or lack of rest—we may feel anxious, foggy, or drained.

👉 Did you know? In TCM, the flavour linked to the Earth element is sweet.
If you're craving sugary treats or drinks, it may be a sign your Earth energy is out of balance.

👉 Another interesting connection: our brain feeds on glucose, and in TCM, it’s the Spleen that governs thinking, memory, and concentration.

🌼 Everyday Practices to Support Earth Energy:
1️⃣ Eat seasonal foods like pumpkin, sweet potatoes, apples, pears, peaches, prunes, and warming herbs.
2️⃣ Keep dinner light and finish eating before 7PM—overeating weakens Spleen Qi.
3️⃣ Try a simple foot massage to stimulate the Stomach and Spleen meridians—an easy way to ground yourself.
4️⃣ Practice abdominal breathing to release tension, move Qi, and support your digestion from the inside out.

If you’d like to go deeper into supporting the Earth element and explore how Qigong can support healthy digestion, emotional balance and natural weight loss, explore the Qigong for Weight Loss course available in the membership space.

✨ Happy Monday ✨

Did you know that in Traditional Chinese Medicine, the ears are viewed the “mini body map”? They are home to dozens of acupressure points connected to every organ network and energy system in the body — including the brain.

Today’s on the August Calendar, we have a short but powerful 5 minute routine to boost brain power 🧠🌿

This gentle practice includes massaging the face, head and ears to:
✅ Improve lymph circulation (bye bye puffiness!)
✅ Relieve head tension and mild headache
✅ Boost mental clarity and concentration

In Qigong, the head is known as the body’s “command center” and also the most Yang place in the body. This means it naturally holds a lot of energy and activity. By gently stimulating the energy channels and pressure points on the face, head, and ears, we can awaken the brain while also keeping it cool, preventing from overheating!

Have you tried today’s practice?

How did it make you feel?

Qigong with Kseny

In Traditional Chinese Medicine and Taoist practice, Yin is the energy of rest, stillness, and nourishment.
It’s the cooling, hydrating, and softening force that allows us to restore, recover, and sleep deeply.

Think of the qualities of night (Yin) and day (Yang). As the sun sets, Yin begins to rise.
But that doesn’t always mean we rise with it.

Yin needs to be invited — gently, intentionally, with care.

As my teacher once said:
“It’s always easier to wake someone up than to help them fall asleep.”
And it’s true. Yin is harder to cultivate.
It asks us to slow down, to let go — which is why we create rituals that help the body and mind shift from doing… to simply being.

Today’s new 15-minute Qigong practice is one of those quiet invitations:
🌙 Slow stretches to release tension from the chest, shoulders, and lower back
🌙 Gentle shaking to clear energy stagnation
🌙 Foot massage to draw energy downward and settle the mind

These slow, light movements before bed help calm the Heart, soothe the nervous system, and guide us gently inward.
