Hey! My name is Mikala, but you might know me as fitbymik! I am a fitness instructor, personal trainer, dancer and aerialist born and raised in Toronto Canada. I have a passion for health and fitness that lead me to a Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology, and over a decade of teaching in the fitness industry. Some of the class genres I have taught include Barre Fitness, Strength and Conditioning, Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, Aquafit, dance and gymnastics. I also have years of expertise with one-on-one personal training and fitness coaching. One of my favourite things about this industry is the ability to help others achieve their goals and feel their best!

In between teaching and learning, I spent many years performing as a dancer and aerialist with Norwegian Cruise Line. I also performed as an aerialist at Tokyo Disney Resort in Japan!

I canโ€™t wait to continue bringing more workouts and challenges to help YOU reach your fitness and flexibility goals!

WORKOUT CHALLENGE FAQ

1. WHERE CAN I FIND THE NEW WORKOUTS?

Any NEW workouts on the schedule will be posted to my channel 1-2 days before their scheduled day and added to the corresponding playlist.

2. WHAT EQUIPMENT WILL I NEED?

I would suggest that you have a good medium set of dumbbells for the challenge. In my videos I use mostly two 10LB dumbbells. Occasionally I use a lighter set of dumbbells (3LB), and sometimes a heavier set (15LB). Always choose your weights based on your own strength level. ๐Ÿ˜Š

During 1-2 of the workouts Iโ€™ll also be using a booty band (loop band) as well.

4. WHERE DO I FIND THE VIDEOS?

The videos are all organized into weekly playlists on my fitbymik YouTube Home Page. Look for the title 2025 WINTER WORKOUT CHALLENGE. All videos are listed in the correct order according to the calendar.

4. IS IT BEGINNER FRIENDLY?

Although many of my videos are challenging, I always provide modifications and low impact options. If you are a beginner you can choose lighter weights to start off and utilize the modification screens.

There is no sign up for this challenge. However, you can sign up for email updates on my website fitbymik.com. You will receive an email with challenge details, the full schedule and playlist links attached.

6. WHERE IS THE FEBRUARY SCHEDULE?

For our 8 week winter workout challenge, the February schedule will be posted during the final week of January.
