Probably like most, I made an account so I could post comments. Eventually, I gave video uploads a try, and here I am. Posting whatever, whenever I feel like it. Be it about gaming, tributes, critical topics... A bit of an irregular mess, I know. Regardless, I aim to entertain and inform. But most importantly, I hope to help people think more, which in turn may help me get some answers too. Whatever that means... we'll just see, I guess.

And here we thought David Pakman insulting the christian victims of the school shooting, to then ask for money in fear of being cancelled during the backlash was bad...
Seriously, how did JonTron 'lose' to this guy in a debate?

So, I just about got home from a 14-days work contract... During the time I was away, I figured to bring along my Switch and finally play Paper Mario TTYD. Real fun game, with endearing characters, artstyle and story telling. But when I reached a certain point in the game, I was somehow reminded of something I once stumbled upon in some game trivia video...
Vivian is a character who eventually joins Mario as a party member. Apparently there have been discussions about Vivian's true gender... even though the game has referred to her with female labels and pronouns. And at absolutely no point did the game hint towards her appearance potentially being deceiving. So, where did all of this come from?

According to Kotaku, the original GameCube version 'censored' Vivian's alleged trans identity in the original Japanese. Apparently, when bullied by her elder sister(s), Vivian was originally referred to with male pronouns and labels, and somehow this is enough to argue she is trans. Like, have they never heard about gender discrimination and harassment? Boys being called sissies, for not being tough enough and too sensitive? Girls being called too ugly to be a girl, know what I mean?

Come the Switch re-release... a new piece of dialogue gets added in the English version. Which is unfortunately a potentially woke move, and I'll be explaining why... As you can see, Vivian tells Mario it took a while for her to realize she was a girl, not a boy. Which is why their bullying hurts even more. Now come my questions... How does this prove Vivian is transgender? And why was this change in the English remake necessary, considering it actually CONTRADICTS what the Japenese version presented, even in its own change in the remake? In the Japanese remake, if we are to believe Vivian's words at face value, she explicitly tells Mario her body is that of a boy, but her heart is that of a girl. In summary the English remake says Vivian is a girl, which is a 'fact' she was unaware of for a long time... Whereas the Japanese remake says she, err, he is a guy, with there being no implication Vivian was unaware at any point in time.

If we don't consider transgenderism, because why would we--it is a kids game after all... Then we have indeed two conflicting setups. In their own attempts at clarifying and putting silly internet debates to rest, the original and localized versions have ended up with two different and opposite answers. That's... not how it works. We must pick one. The original source wins in this case.
Vivian is a boy. A feminine boy, also known as a femboy. Not a girl, trans or not.
Cripes, can't believe I wasted my time researching this... Is it too late wishing ya'll Americans happy 4th of July?

There is no shame in asking for help, but there is arguably nothing more ungrateful than thinking others should pay up for you. There is a reason why we say some people just never grow up. Children being raised by children is a perfect recipe for disaster.
Like, if you can't even afford lunch for your kids, you are in a REALLY bad spot. But sure, go ahead. Vote for higher taxes, instead of making it more worthwhile to have a job and pull your own weight.
"Parents need to understand their own children are not theirs, they are ours." <--Yes, somebody actually said this. Just horrifying.

There's unfortunately a handful of reasons to not buy Switch2, but I think this is the dealbreaker for me.
If I understand correctly from the information I've gathered, physical copies are now physical... only in name. These "Key Cards" are codes which must be redeemed, so that you may download the game. This just might be the first time ever a home console requires an internet connection to even access "physical" copies.
One of the main reasons to buy physical is so that your hardware's storage unit won't be burdened by the game's size. For enthusiastic game collectors it can be an absolute pain, having to keep deleting games just to play a new one. Going back to the point of now needing internet access to fetch these "physicals"... Games are not as small as they used to be! If you just so happen to have crappy internet, it can take FOREVER before you even get to play your "physical" copy.
People wanting to switch over to PC or other consoles doesn't seem so farfetched right now. In addition to the ridiculous and sudden increase in prices, what Nintendo is doing right now goes against our beliefs. Until they steer the ship back in the right direction, I'm officially jumping off Nintendo of today and onwards. The future of consumers like me looks bleak... What a mighty shame.

Back in the day, I paid $400 for a Smash Ultimate + Switch bundle. Today we have a Mario Kart World + Switch2 bundle for... $750. Like... how could the price have doubled in just one console generation? And it's not just the console (bundle). The price of the pro-controller has also nearly doubled.
Something really stinks about this whole thing. Either way, I am definitely not in a hurry to buy a Switch2, then. Although I will be quite sad if this becomes the norm.
I believe the only people who have a legit reason for buying a Switch2 are either parents with kids they wanna make happy, professional gamers, or filthy rich people with too much time on their hands. The rest should probably not bother, especially if they're not sure they'll have the time to properly explore these new Switch2 games. Basically, think very carefully before you upgrade from your original Switch. With these things in mind, I honestly think it's very likely you will regret it, if you do.

Regarding the recent drone attack on Russian bombers...
Russia invaded Ukraine. I understand that Ukraine and its people want (proper) revenge. But something about outsiders, including those living on American soil, continuing to cry for Russian blood just doesn't sit right with me. Especially when you consider the statement made by Trump: "the war can end in 24 hours".
Now we have these people mockingly saying "what was that, Trump? Wouldn't the war be over right now?"

"They don't love the poor, they just hate the rich." For this case, it seems like "they don't love Ukraine, they just hate Trump". I am seriously made to believe if it makes Trump look bad, then by all means, may the war never end. Because in their eyes he is merely "Putin's mouthpiece". And anyone who has 'good' relations with Trump must suffer.

They openly cry for slavery, probably without even realizing it. After all, they believe working for someone is inherently slavery. But they somehow find no issue working for the government. Because... they voted to become slaves? At least together? Make it make sense...

I must say, it's pretty ironic how I pre-ordered a physical copy of Xenoblade Chronicles X: DE, only for it to be scheduled to arrive at my nearest postal office... 5 days after its launch. Kinda defeats the purpose of saving time, considering I could've just made a quick trip to the store on thursday instead (if I weren't too lazy to do so before my late evening work shift).
In short, it just goes to show life doesn't always make sense. But hey, we can always make up for it somehow, I think.
