BIG NEWS -- My new podcast is now launched with its own channel, ‪@FeldmanProtocol‬

The #FeldmanProtocol is long form, in-person, Rogan-esque style free form discussions that cover a wide variety of topics -- but often land on science, nutrition, medicine.

I started recording these earlier in the year and now we have several in hand with guests that include, Gary Taubes, Nick Norwitz ‪@nicknorwitzMDPhD‬ , Nic Verhoeven ‪@Physionic‬ , Mike Mutzel ‪@Highintensityhealth‬ to nam ea few -- and note I like to keep it to a wide spectrum on opinions, such as having great conversations with Chris MacCaskill ‪@Viva-Longevity‬ & Alex Leaf (really great episodes, btw)

I'm brand new at this, but I'll concede -- it's been a blast putting these episodes together. I hope you'll enjoy watching / listening to them as much as we did recording them.

KETO-CTA (#LMHRstudy) vs Control (#MiHeart)

METHODS – 80 Participants of #LMHRstudy fell within #MiHeart age range and were then matched 1:1 for age, gender, race, diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, and past smoking to asymptomatic subjects from the #MiHeart cohort.

PRIMARY ANALYSIS – High resolution heart scans (#CCTA) allowing for primary analysis of Total Plaque Score (TPS), Total Stenosis Score (TSS) and Segment Involvement Score (SIS)

RESULTS
The matched mean age was 55.5 years, with mean #LDL cholesterol of 272 mg/dL (max LDL-C 591) mg/dl and mean 4.7 years duration on a ketogenic diet.

🚨 There was no significant difference in coronary plaque burden of #LMHRstudy (mean LDL-C 272) cohort as compared to #MiHeart controls (mean LDL 123 mg/dl); nb: pre-KETO LDL-C in KETO group was 122 mg/dl

🚨 There was no significant difference in CAC (median and IQR) [0 (0,56)] versus [1 (0, 49)], p = 0.520

🚨 No relationship of LDL-C elevations and plaque

⚠️ NOTE: This analysis is on baseline scans, we will have further data on the Keto-CTA longitudinal analysis in the coming months. And — as always — please continue to work with your doctor.

Hi everyone -- alas, I had to take down that video I recorded today with Nick Norwitz while we were on Clubhouse as the audio is clearly poor quality. It was my first attempt at using OBS to stream to YouTube, and while I think the visuals came out well, there was clearly a problem on the audio portion. But now that I know the nature of the issue, it should it fixed for next time.
