Yoga with Dr Omkar
Yoga is a spiritual science, which has been gifted to us by our ancient Rishis. Yoga leads to final emancipation. This does not mean that yoga is not for worldly people. In fact, the science of yoga has become a popular subject as a curative and a preventive measure for human suffering.
Dr S.N. Omkar is a disciple of Padma Vibhushan Dr B.K.S. Iyengar and has worked extensively as a practitioner, teacher, therapist, teacher trainer and scientist in the field of yoga for more than 40 years. He founded Yoga Mandir , a premier yoga institution for therapeutic yoga in Bengaluru in 1989.
He is the Chief Research Scientist at the Indian Institute of Science(IISc) in the Department of Aerospace Engineering and an Honorary Professor at Vedic Wellness University, Florida, USA.

Swami Vivekananda stands among the greatest spiritual masters the world has known. In his book Raja Yoga, Swamiji offers a commentary on the Yoga Sutras of Maharshi Patanjali. It is worth noting that he lived what he preached and preached what he practised.
Dr. Omkar has been profoundly influenced by Swami Vivekananda. In this 2021 talk, he explains how Swamiji realised the transformative results of practising Yama and Niyama in his own life — a message deeply relevant for today’s youth.
