“Music is not just a hobby. It is another branch on the tree of wellness.”
This quote has been my mantra and motto since I began teaching music nearly two decades ago. What it means to me — as a music teacher, sound healer, and practitioner of several wellness-based practices — is that music isn’t just for concert halls, studios, and practice rooms. It’s for retirement homes, yoga classes, hospitals, Buddhist temples … anywhere and everywhere. In short, music is for life.
I see my role as helping my students tap into this abundant energy and harness it for their own self-evolution as well as a way to bring greater health and joy into their lives. I’m so passionate about this because I’ve seen firsthand just how transformative music can be. I’ve watched student after student find not just a wonderful creative outlet, but a shift in mindset that touches every part of their life, from their mood and attitude right down to their energy level and physical health.

New article: The Law of Entrainment - Why Sound Healing Actually Works
Ever wonder why a song can completely shift your mood in seconds?
It's the law of entrainment - the same force that makes grandfather clock pendulums swing in sync, or causes a cello to tune itself when placed near symphonic music.
Your body is an antenna. An instrument. And just like any instrument, it can fall out of tune.
Sound healing works because vibrations sync up. Your frequencies entrain to the sounds around you - including your own voice.
That's why I spent years learning these techniques. That's why I'm teaching them now.

New video: Speaking Into the Mask 🎭
Does your voice get lost in the back of your throat?
Do you swallow your words?
Symbolically, this is a voice that doesn't feel like it wants to be heard.
Today's technique: Bring your voice FORWARD using your face bones (sinuses, cheekbones, teeth) as resonating chambers.
Your bones are made of minerals - like the stone tiles in a bathroom that make your voice echo. When you direct sound to hit these bones, your voice sparkles and projects.
This video teaches you how.

New article: "The Missing Piece - Why Musicians Need Community"
In my teens and early twenties, I was part of an active music scene in North Florida. We performed regularly, watched each other grow, pushed each other to be better.
That community didn't just make me a better musician. It made me believe my art mattered.
Over the last two decades, I've struggled to find that again. Even living in LA, one of the most creative cities in the world.
Because creative communities don't just exist. They have to be built.
So I'm building one.
The Healthy Voice Community launches this Friday (Nov 28). Live practice, Courage Circles, yoga, songwriting therapy, and a community of people on the same journey.
This is the community I wish I had when I was 31, and stage fright shut my voice down completely.

New video: Torso Tension Release 🌬️
Why is your chest so tight?
Two reasons:
1. You're holding your breath unconsciously (just enough air to survive)
2. Unresolved trauma = your body protecting vital organs 24/7
When you're in chronic fear response, your shoulders hunch forward, chest closes, guarding your heart and lungs.
Friday's video: 10-minute torso release routine to open your chest, release tension, and teach your body it's safe to breathe again.

New article on Substack: "The Conspiracy Against Your Voice"
You were born with a voice. Not just for speaking. For singing.
And somewhere along the way, someone told you to shut up.
Maybe it was a music teacher. Maybe a parent. Maybe kids at school.
But someone made it clear: your voice was wrong. Annoying. Off-key. Embarrassing.
This wasn't an accident. This was programming.
Modern culture systematically separated people into two categories: those who are allowed to sing, and those who must stay silent.
Go back far enough in history and everyone sang. Working. Worshipping. Putting kids to sleep. No auditions. No shame. No segregation.
So what happened?
New article breaks down the conspiracy against your voice—and how to take it back.

New video: Why I'm Creating This Community (My Story) 💙
At 12, my family lost everything. We moved from a house to a small apartment. I lost my space to dance.
That's when I discovered singing. But I desperately wanted voice lessons and we couldn't afford them.
At 17, I finally got my own income and could pay for private lessons. The difference was huge.
I thought: if I'd had these lessons at 13, 14, 15, imagine how good I'd be today.
That's why I'm creating The Healthy Voice Community.
This is what I wish I had as a teenager. In my 20s and 30s when I still couldn't always afford weekly private lessons.
Launching November 28. Three tiers: $25 | $67 | $147/month.
Founding members get lifetime pricing (locks in forever).

Why We Sabotage Our Own Success 💙
Have you ever noticed this pattern?
You practice hard. You finally reach that breakthrough. You perform and people are amazed.
And then... you stop practicing.
You sabotage it. Not on purpose. But you do.
Why?
Because success comes with responsibility. And that's scary.
Once people know what you're capable of, they expect you to show up like that every time.
Today's video is about why we do this - and how to stop.
If you've ever been close to breakthrough and then mysteriously backed off, this one's for you.

New article on Substack: "I Sailed My Ship of Safety Till I Sank It" 🌊
At 23, I quit my entire healing practice because I was too scared to face my darkest traumas.
For years, I masked it with extreme physical health - raw vegan, running, hot yoga, intermittent fasting. I became the fittest I'd ever been.
But you can't outrun trauma. Eventually, panic attacks hit. The body demanded an exorcism.
That's when I discovered: the voice is a vibratory tool. Like massage hands push out muscle toxins, the voice can travel deep within and shake loose accumulated trauma.
This is the origin story of everything I teach now.

New video: The Audible Sigh 🌬️
This is the simplest practice I teach. One sound. Huge release.
If your throat feels tight right now - from stress, from holding back words, from chronic tension - this 8-minute video will show you how to release it.
I use this technique at the beginning of every single voice lesson. It breaks up blocked energy in your chest and throat using the vibration of your voice.
No props needed. No experience needed. Just you and your breath. 💙
What are you holding in your throat that needs to be released? 👇

New post on Substack: Art and Fear 🎨
I lost my voice at 31. Not metaphorically - literally. On stage, in front of a crowd, my throat closed up and I couldn't sing.
I spent the next 10 years avoiding performance because trauma had taken up residence in my body.
This is my story of what happened - and how I finally got my voice back.
But it's also a rant about what we've lost as a culture: the artists, the weirdness, the color. The people who dare to be different.
If you've ever hidden your art because you were afraid, this one's for you.
