“Music is not just a hobby. It is another branch on the tree of wellness.”
This quote has been my mantra and motto since I began teaching music nearly two decades ago. What it means to me — as a music teacher, sound healer, and practitioner of several wellness-based practices — is that music isn’t just for concert halls, studios, and practice rooms. It’s for retirement homes, yoga classes, hospitals, Buddhist temples … anywhere and everywhere. In short, music is for life.
I see my role as helping my students tap into this abundant energy and harness it for their own self-evolution as well as a way to bring greater health and joy into their lives. I’m so passionate about this because I’ve seen firsthand just how transformative music can be. I’ve watched student after student find not just a wonderful creative outlet, but a shift in mindset that touches every part of their life, from their mood and attitude right down to their energy level and physical health.
