Resilient Raimey: Life with a Single Ventricle

Resilient Raimey is the story of our 15 year old daughter, living with a Single Ventricle Heart, also known as Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome.

Raimey had the Glenn, the first stage surgery for single ventricle hearts at 2 1/2 years old and the Fontan, second stage surgery at 4 years old.

Raimey received no medical care for the first two-and-a-half years of her life in an orphanage. This has likely impacted her heart function and caused some of these longer term effects to occur sooner than would be normal.

Nonetheless, RESILIENT Raimey keeps on fighting her battle with Congenital Heart Disease. She lives big and has a boisterous personality (except on camera)! Raimey loves family, cats, cooking, swinging and writing stories.

Come along on our journey as we discuss the next phase of the journey: heart transplant. And, share about things we have learned along the way living this life of faith in a God with a much greater plan than we could ever understand.
