First, we're cramming all the 2D Metroid games into our livestreams this month. Metroid 5 launches early October, and I'm trying to complete 1-4 on stream before then. Naturally we'll be playing Dread on stream when it comes out too. Since we have a lot to get through I'll be streaming on odd days rather than just weekends, make sure to enable YT's notifications or join our Discord so you get a ping when we go live. After our Metroid binge, we'll return to RTSs on the stream for a little bit, probably starting with Dune 2000, and we'll go back to weekend streams to decrease the likelihood of going live when everyone's working.
Second, I'm getting back into our edited stuff. The next C&C lore video has been decided on, but first I'm running through a load of files to upscale the RA2 cutscenes in the highest possible quality. There will be a video going into detail on the process once it's all done, but I've upgraded to using Avisynth+ QTGMC for the best deinterlacing on the DVD footage and in-game Binks before running them through the upscalers. Since this'll be a big project to get done right, I have a handful of smaller videos on the way in the meantime (an audio-only one like the one on the Tacitus will likely be first) just to keep us going in the interim. This sort of thing is why I'm focusing on doing more streams, since they don't get in the way of editing much I can at least put out content when I'm tied up in a big thing like this.
If Jimtern resurfaces with RC2, let him know I've got a present for him!

I'm loving jumping from game to game so we're playing something different each stream, and we can always return to prior games later to complete them.
Unfortunately I'm about to hit a wall of IRL work that will basically render me unable to access my computers for the first third of September. This means all my editing will be put on hold until then, and the next stream likely won't be until around the 18th, unless we start doing mid-week streams. I apologise for this since I'm already somewhat slow as it is on video turnaround, something the YT algorithm doesn't appear to be a fan of. The Metroid introductory retrospective that went up yesterday was already delayed longer than I'd have liked by IRL work, for which I'm really sorry, but unfortunately it's the way it is.
I will absolutely return as soon as I am able, making videos is my life, and I'm grateful beyond words that you folks enjoy watching them! Our next major project will be a return to C&C lore, I can't wait to be able to get to these topics! I should be able to continue some script writing during the hiatus, though typing on a phone is slow.

The next video will be a piece on the 2D Metroid games, a series I've been wanting to talk about since before I started C&C content. It's not a lore video, but Metroid lore is something to perhaps return to in the future. I've been busy with a bunch of stuff away from YT this past month, I apologise for going a little quiet as a result, thank you for your patience on this one!
I've been putting together some assets for the livestreams to try and make them look more fancy and a little less slap-dash. The streams have been a lot of fun, so the plan is to try and make them a more regular thing between the main videos. There's currently no set schedule, but if you want to make sure you don't miss them, you could add No Strings to your YT Notifications, or join our Discord ( discord.com/invite/nJKq47B ) where the streams are announced before they go live. Our next stream should be within the next few days, starting with Portal Reloaded, we'll be mixing C&C and other RTSs with some other games. With Tiberian Sun's anniversary coming up next month, that'll be a great opportunity to run through some of the campaigns then!
