This is a frame from one of rough cuts of the "VF-1A Rig Test in HD".

I've turned on some rendering options that I couldn't enable about 10 years ago due to lack of CPU capability. One of them is subsurface scattering simulation of human skin material. I also updated the lighting plan for this cut, and am trying to create sound FX for it.

Q. In fighter form, can it open those extra rear engines that we see in the half-transformed mode whose name I can't remember?

A. In fighter mode, the engines mounted on a backpack-like part are useless, and an engine nozzle cover cannot be opened because arm parts are in the way :)
In a rendered image below, the nozzle cover is forcibly opened.

Hi all, especially my channel subscribers and old friends of on-line 3DCG communities.

For a while this channel would be less active again, but please don't take this as bad news, but rather as a small piece of good news.

I have been having some health problems which have caused a long silence on this channel. Basically, I still have problems, but some of them have been overcome and I am now trying to regain more things I once lost.

The first symbolic signal for measuring this channel activity and my health condition was the publish of "[Vocaloid Megpoid][Cover] Ballet Mécanique / Simple Mix / Rev.0" this April. Its DAW work was more than 90% complete in 2017, but at that time I couldn't proceed with the work due to ill health.

However, after almost three years of silence, I was able to complete the rest of the DAW work, create a simple animation from scratch, then upload as a video, in just one day. Since then, as you know, I've been updating my BSG and SDF related works for the last few months. I believe that I have been able to regain more what I had but once lost and it would continue.

I have been concentrating on overcoming my health problems by using the company's long holiday system, but it's time to go back to work. While I am working, other rest problems will be solved little by little, but this will reduce my free time. So the activity on this channel will be low for a while.

Anyway, I'm back. My PC's CPU cores get hot when rendering wherever I am.

しばらくの間、このチャンネルの活動レベルが下がりますが、これは悪いニュースではなく、(このチャンネルのアクティビティが多少なりとも気になる人なら)むしろちょっとした良いニュースとして受け止めてください。

私は従来からいくつかの健康上の問題を抱えており、それがこのチャンネルの長い沈黙の原因となっていました。基本的にはまだ問題を抱えていますが、克服された問題もあり、今は意欲や処理できないペースで出てくるアイディア、集中力といった一度失ったものを取り戻そうと足掻いています。

このチャンネルの活動レベルと私の体調を測る上で重要な最初の象徴的なシグナルは、今年4月に公開した「[Vocaloid Megpoid][Cover] Ballet Mécanique / Simple Mix / Rev.0」でした。そのDAW作業は2017年に90%以上完成していたのですが、その時は体調不良でその先に作業を進めることができませんでした。

しかし約3年経ってたまたま朝から体調の良さを感じてDAWソフトを立ち上げたところ、残りのDAW作業を完成させられただけでなく、簡単なアニメーションを一から作って加え、動画としてアップロードするという一連の作業がたった1日でできてしまいました(翌日はぐったりでしたが)。それからというもの、ご存知の通り、ここ数ヶ月はバトルスター・ギャラクティカやマクロス関連の旧作をアップデートしています。一度は失ったものを幾分でも取り戻すことができたと思っていますし、「取り戻すこと」がこれからも続くことを期待しています。

一定時間以上の集中力維持の可否、大事。

ここしばらくは会社の長期休暇制度を利用して体調不良を克服することに専念してきましたが、年内の正式復職を前提に近日中に試験的な出勤を開始する運びとなりました。仕事に努める日々のうちに残る健康問題も少しずつ解決していくでしょうが、その分は自由な時間が減ってしまいます。そのため、このチャンネルの活動はしばらくの間、再び低調になります。とは言え土日は休みですし、PCは私が職場に居ようが寝ていようが今まで通りレンダリング作業で唸り続けるでしょう。

ともかく、私は帰ってきました。

多いとは言えなくともポジティブな反応が得られ続けている嬉しい現状下、チャンネルを放置したり閉じることは考えられません。ぽっくりとでも逝かない限り、黙って放置状態とすることは性格的に有り得ません(「終わらせること」が好き故)。これまでと同様に生暖かい目でたまの生存確認を頂き続けられれば、当チャンネルとしてそれ以上の幸せはありません。

末筆ながら、皆様のご多幸をお祈り申し上げます。

Hi! My Battlestar Meshes in the old Lightwave3D format are already available for free download from Google Drive.

These meshes are the same that only Foundation3d members could download from the Resources section of Foundation3d.com. These were built by Lightwave3d Ver.8-10, and their model and scene file formats are supported up to Lightwave3d 2015 with a few exceptions.

- *No other BSG-related meshes* of mine will be available, especially those based on copyrighted materials such as original Vipers, Valkyrie-type vessels, Jupiter class vessels and so on.
- There is *no other format* mesh data, please DO NOT ask me about other format data or data conversions.
- There is *no support* related to my downloadable mesh data.

Hi, BSG fans. I'm not back yet, but I'm still trying to get back.

I recently retrieved the Viper launch tube mesh data that was lost due to a HDD crash, and repaired the old format LightWave3D (LW3D) scene files used to render the Viper launch sequence. I'm currently testing these files in LW3D 2015 and will decide within a few weeks whether to remake one of the old movies in HD.

However, these scenes are truly "beasts" and are horribly CPU power (and time) hungry!
