It's our last episode from Argentina before we return to England for the start of another mini-series! (More on that soon!).
This week, the southernmost train ride in the world. More than just a scenic railway, this End of the World Train journey is a trip into the past, tracing the route forged by the prisoners who shaped Ushuaia's beginnings.
At the "End of the World Station," you can explore the history before boarding the train for a 50-minute journey one way. An onboard audio guide narrates the story of the original "Prison Train" and its vital role in Ushuaia's development. We, of course, will give you our narrated guide!
Ushuaia, established in 1884, became known for its harsh prison. The train route reveals the prisoners' grueling labour transporting essential materials. The journey includes views of the Pico Valley, Toro Gorge, and a stop at Cascada de la Macarena. Then, continuing into Tierra del Fuego National Park, you'll see the "tree cemetery," a reminder of the area's past.
The End of the World Train offers a unique perspective on Ushuaia's history and the stunning landscapes of Patagonia. Join us this Saturday at 2pm GMT 5th April, and enjoy the ride.

This weekend, we make it to the southernmost city in the world. This incredible location, often referred to as the starting point for Antarctic expeditions, holds a special place in the hearts of travellers seeking the ultimate adventure.
We'll be diving into the heart of Ushuaia, uncovering its rich history and the breathtaking experiences it offers. One of the most iconic is navigating the Beagle Channel. Picture yourself aboard a catamaran, cruising through the waters that once witnessed the voyages of explorers like Charles Darwin. This channel, named after HMS Beagle, offers stunning views of snow-capped mountains, diverse wildlife, and the famous Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse, often mistaken for the ‘End of the World’ lighthouse. Our adventure takes us to Penguin Island, where you'll witness colonies of Magellanic and Gentoo penguins in their natural habitat. Seeing these charming creatures waddle and dive is an unforgettable experience, a true highlight of visiting Ushuaia.
For nature enthusiasts, a hike to Laguna Esmeralda is absolutely essential. This breathtaking glacial lagoon, with its stunning emerald-green waters, is nestled amidst towering peaks and lush forests. The hike itself is a rewarding experience, offering panoramic views of the surrounding wilderness. The serene beauty of Laguna Esmeralda is a testament to the pristine and untouched nature of Ushuaia.

Over the past week, we've been crafting a cinematic journey back to a magical long weekend we took last November. We were craving snow-dusted landscapes, breathtaking vistas, a touch of history, and of course, mouthwatering food. Our compass pointed us towards the majestic Bavarian Alps! We snagged a sweet deal on British Airways flights to Munich and, after a quick overnight at the airport, our adventure began.
We traded the mild Munich air for the crisp, snow-kissed embrace of the Alps. This weekend, we're unleashing a video that captures it all: exhilarating hikes, scenery so stunning it'll leave you speechless, and charming villages steeped in history. Like Mittenwald, where the echoes of violin making still resonate, and the opulent Linderhof Palace, one of the fairytale castles dreamed up by the eccentric King Ludwig II.
And yes, we indulged in the incredible local cuisine! This trip was a feast for all the senses.
So, ditch the ordinary this weekend! Join us on this virtual escape to the Bavarian Alps and get inspired for your next adventure. 2pm GMT Saturday 15th Feb
