Elemental Magic
Elemental Magic is the name of Joseph Gilland's two cornerstone animation 'how-to' books about hand-drawn special effects animation, and far beyond. The flowing, intuitive way in which he guides his readers and workshops, leads participants to learn about principles that can be applied to all facets of the animation world, 2D, 3D, creative and technical sides equally. In fact, Joseph's workshops can be applied to all walks of life, as it introduces a new way of seeing how connected we are to the world around us, and how we can interact with it, in a seamless, flowing way.
This channel is devoted to anything and everything that Joseph feels might be even remotely relevant to a site dedicated to the madness of animation, and the freedom of creativity it allows us. The study of visual effects from an 'organic' point of view, as Joseph puts his more analog and highly scientific approach to work for teaching and learning about 'special' effects, on a deeper, more intuitive level.
