Hi, I’m Jane — a retired math teacher who loves the piano. I started lessons at 12, which is late by classical standards, and studied for five years. I’m not a good pianist, just someone who kept learning on her own.
In retirement, I played for seniors with Alzheimer’s who didn’t care about mistakes — they just loved singing along with the music. Their kindness helped me overcome stage fright and inspired me to start this channel in 2009.
I make slow, clear piano tutorials to help learners follow notes, fingering, and rhythm. Some said this wasn’t real teaching — but now over 200,000 subscribers use my videos, including students, conservatory pianists, and self-taught players who learn by ear.
I earn very little from YouTube, but people around the world tell me they’ve always wanted to play and couldn’t afford lessons. Helping them is a meaningful way to spend my time. I hope my videos help you too.
