Tim Fletcher is a pioneer in the Addictions and Complex Trauma field. After 30+ years of helping others as a pastor, his own trauma recovery and work in addictions treatment led him to recognize how deeply Complex Trauma intersects with addiction, mental health, behavior, and coping. Tim founded the RE/ACT program and later Tim Fletcher Co. His work has since shaped our LIFT Program, ALIGN Courses, COMPASS Program, and more.

We're a team who’ve faced Complex Trauma ourselves and are committed to supporting others in their recovery. Through Tim’s free videos, our courses, community support, and our intensive programs, we’re helping change the landscape of Complex Trauma recovery.

If you’re wondering where to begin, we invite you to start with Tim’s videos here on YouTube. If you need more guidance, reach out to us — you don’t have to do this alone.

NEW PODCAST EPISODE OUT NOW ⭐

In this episode, Tim and Andy dive into one of the most challenging parts of healing from complex trauma: boundaries. Together they explore why boundaries often feel confusing, scary, or “selfish,” and how unhealthy family systems shape the rules we grow up with. Tim explains the difference between internal and external boundaries, why willpower alone isn’t enough, how shame and fawning affect our ability to hold limits, and what loving, sustainable boundary-setting actually looks like in real relationships. If you’ve ever struggled to stand up for yourself, collapsed around other people’s emotions, or felt guilty for having needs, this conversation offers clarity, compassion, and practical tools for change.

We've often talked about how trauma can shut down our gut instincts, emotions, and sense of choice, which makes boundaries feel overwhelming. What area feels most important for you as you learn to set healthier boundaries?

When healing gets hard, it is so tempting to reach for something spiritual to make the pain go quiet. Spirituality is one of our 12 Basic Needs, but we need to be careful not to use it as a way to avoid the work our healing still requires.

Healing from Complex Trauma rarely feels simple or straightforward. The path can stir up doubt, hesitation, and the fear of getting it all wrong. A lot of people want to grow but feel overwhelmed or unsure where to begin, and that can make even the smallest decisions feel incredibly hard.

Feel familiar? It's okay. These reactions are part of the trauma pattern itself. They can make you freeze when something matters, second-guess what you know, or feel like you don’t deserve support (you do).

What matters most is not perfection but little movements. Every small step you take to understand your story is an act of care for yourself. Some days the path feels clear, and other days it’s messy or confusing. That doesn’t mean you’re failing. Healing isn’t linear. There will be progress, setbacks, pauses, and new beginnings along the way, and every step forward still counts.

What are some small steps you've taken recently to keep yourself on track?
