Home of La Billyoteca - Billy's Inner Work Library Project
I read psychology and philosophy books and distil the insights into practical lessons to help guide your inner work.
Plenty of book recommendations to come!

I think I've just recorded one of my favourite videos so far 👀
Can't wait to share it with you tomorrow - just need to do a bit of editing and then exporting.
Here's a sneak preview of the diagram that I'll be explaining that can help you to find meaning in difficult times.
Book recommendation ✅
Bit of theory and explanation ✅
Practical structure to guide insight ✅
All the usual stuff that you've come to expect by now if you're a returning viewer!
AND NOW, A MESSAGE OF THANKS:
I've also been receiving an increasing amount of private messages (on Instagram), emails, and in person suggestions to start using Amazon affiliate links to earn some money through these lessons.
I sincerely appreciate the thought, I just don't want it to interfere with my message of GENUINELY WANTING YOU TO READ THESE BOOKS FOR YOURSELVES!
I've also had many people asking how to donate to support the building of this library and taking the initiative of sending me Amazon gift cards too.
I've been blown away by these kind offers so thank you so much.
As a result, I've set up a Buy Me a Coffee page which you can access here. I'm not expecting a single person to donate at all, but if you'd like to support, I'd much rather it be done through this means than via affiliate links. Just type in any number you like, and all proceeds are strictly to be spent on the building of the library, nothing more.

The lessons will continue regardless.
Please prioritise buying the books for yourselves and learning from the real masters who have gone before us.
In the meantime, I've got a lot of comments to reply to and a video to edit, so I'll see you tomorrow!
All the best,
Billy

Mr Clark's Classroom
I’m going away for my first holiday in 12+ months tomorrow – I CANNOT WAIT!
So, if I don’t reply to your comments, it’s not that I’m ignoring you. I’ll catch up when I’m back! (31st March)
According to YouTube studio, I’ve replied to every single comment that has been left on my channel at the time of writing this, and I fully intend to keep up that momentum for the foreseeable future.
💌 This post is also a note of gratitude to you, dear reader.
I’ve been regularly posting on YouTube now for 108 days.
I started with a 15-part book recommendation series on December 2nd 2024, and the growth since then has been incredible.
+4000 subscribers
135,000 views
7,100 watch hours
To put this into perspective, in my classroom teaching career, I could hit a maximum of 21 hours per week.
21…
Thank you so much for being a part of this journey with me.
I’ve beyond surpassed my initial 12-month goal already, so I’m excited to see where this path leads.
Lots more teaching to come.
Many more insights to distil.
Many more books to read and, of course, recommend.
I’ll do a full recap of March specifically in about 2 weeks’ time, as I feel like this has been an important month on my journey.
Until then, keep doing the inner work and self-exploration.
You’re doing a wonderful job and if I can be of any help to you whatsoever, please let me know.
All the best,
Billy
(PS. Dune fans - this is my holiday read. I've been meaning to read it since my book-stacking video way back in January so can't wait to finally start it)

🤝 YOU ASK; I ANSWER (Shadow Work Explanation)
I’ve been blown away with the amount of kind comments I’ve received from the shadow work analogy video I uploaded 2 weeks ago, and there is one recurring theme in the comments:
📢 “Great, but what actually IS the Shadow? Where did it come from and what does the word mean?”
A wonderful question, which I’d love to answer.
👨🏫 As a reminder, this is Mr Clark’s CLASSROOM; it’s not just a YouTube channel.
I’ve taught for 10+ years, and I love the teacher-student dynamic.
It is no different here.
📚 I want to be of service to you and answer your questions, so I’m going to put my head down for the next few hours and figure out how to explain what the shadow refers to in a simple way.
I’m aiming for a 15-minute video, which will include a 3–4-minute summarised version within it for those that don’t have the time to sit through all 15 mins (I’ll timestamp it, don’t worry). I'll do my best to upload it for tomorrow.
👉 Other feedback I’m taking into account:
- Not making the delivery as repetitive as some of my other videos
- Making the camera is in manual focus, not auto
- Upping the pace of my delivery slightly
It’s all a learning curve and I appreciate massively all the kind words and pieces of constructive feedback.
🎨 Let’s make this a healthy and engaging classroom environment, based on the needs of the students and the adaptability of the teacher.
All the best,
Billy
PS – Enjoy a sneaky behind the scenes view of the mess I’m creating whilst I do this.

Fast approaching 2,000 subscribers all of a sudden! 👀
I've dedicated a lot of time to replying to each and every single comment that has been posted across all of my videos since December (when I started this journey).
The level and quality of these comments and questions are INCREDIBLE and it's great to see the messages resonating this deeply.
The books have helped me enormously, and distilling the insights for you is an absolute pleasure.
It's wonderful to hear so many of you buying and reading the books for yourselves too.
👉 With that in mind, I'm going to screenshot some comments and questions from a few videos and do a much longer and more casual video discussing them.
👨🏫 I don't want this to be a YouTube channel - I want it to be a classroom.
📚 That means that I teach, students ask questions, and I answer them.
📖 This isn't about me, it's about you and what we can create and discover together in this classroom container.
I'm sitting down to screenshot some questions now and will attempt to record a 25-30 minute long take video to discuss some of your thoughts.
If I can get through 10 then I'd be very happy, but I already know in advance I'm going to get carried away with answering them so let's see what happens!
☕ Alright, let me make a cup of tea and get comfy on the ground! See you shortly.
All the best,
Billy

EXPERIMENT SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE ✅
I challenged myself to upload daily for 2-weeks straight and re-record my original 15-part series on book recommendations.
After 16 videos from Feb 5th - 20th and 172 minutes uploaded, I can say it is done.
I actually have one more video ready to go on the topic of how to make reading more enjoyable and easier than ever (image below) but I'll upload that tomorrow.
That will take the playlist to over 3 hours, which is ideal and roughly what I had intended from the outset.
You can view the full playlist here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LsfIe...
I'll review the analytics for this another time, but for now it is done!
If anyone has any thoughts, questions, or requests for future videos, just let me know!
I'll have been posting on YouTube for 100 days on Wed 12th March, so I'll be doing a bigger review of the progress at that point.
All the best,
Mr Clark

Mr Clark's Classroom
I'm taking this time to do a 2-week experiment.
I'm halfway through my improved and re-recorded 15-book playlist of psychology and philosophy book recommendations.
(You may have noticed more videos coming from this channel in the past 7 days)
That's on purpose.
I'm trialing the idea of uploading a video per day for 2 weeks, and the 15-book playlist seemed the most obvious avenue for this.
There's no way on earth I can keep up this pace, but for 2 weeks, it's an interesting challenge!
I have no expectations and I haven't been paying much attention to the analytics, so I'll be reviewing this in just over a weeks time.
If there are any other small YouTubers out there watching this, let me know what experiments you have tried!
I'm curious to see how other people are navigating this space.
The playlist can be accessed here in full for anyone who is curious: www.youtube.com/playlist?list...
Just wanted to pop on and write this mainly as a reminder to myself to review this next week!
All the best,
Mr Clark

OH MY GOD - I THINK I'VE FIXED THE ISSUE!
It might be that I can save this channel instead of hopping over onto another as the security issue has resolved.
Bare with me!
I'd much rather continue my momentum on here and I already have 15 videos ready to go, improving the 15-part book recommendation playlist.
Enjoy this terrible frame of me in the meantime from a video I recorded today which accurately sums up my inner world

Mr Clark's Classroom
First (proper) video uploaded on the new channel: lnkd.in/ea7HEUYk
It's a CONSIDERABLY IMPROVED version of the Inner Critic video that I first uploaded on here back in December.
A reminder, that there will be no further videos posted to this channel, and I will slowly start unlisting them each day as I upload a new one on the new channel.
See you over there!

ANNOUNCEMENT: Mr Clark's Classroom is relocating onto another channel
youtube.com/@billyclarkteaches?sub_confirmation=1
In a frustrating turn of events due to factors outside of my control, I am having to relocate my channel.
I set up this channel over half a decade ago, and I've lost access to various important permissions and factors that would impact the future security of the channel.
Rather than sacrifice 1-2 years of effort, I'm choosing to sacrifice 2 months instead.
This hasn't impacted my enthusiasm one bit though.
Over on the new channel, I will be uploading videos every day throughout February and slowly unlisting the videos on here.
My original 15-part playlist will be re-recorded and much improved, and I've already began the process of recording these videos.
They look and sound SO much better, and I'm very excited to regather this momentum.
THERE WILL BE NO FURTHER VIDEOS UPLOADED ONTO THIS CHANNEL.
I do apologise for this and no-one is more frustrated about this than I am (trust me).
It would be lovely to see you over on the next channel where I will be continuing to teach and mentor with no loss of momentum.
Once again, I do apologise, and the new channel is here:

Mr Clark's Classroom
The 80:20 rule is out.
The 90:19 rule is in.
In Lesson 3/50, we're looking at the Barbell Strategy.
It's a wonderfully simply rule from Nassim Nicholas Taleb's "The Black Swan".
Rather than distribute your effort or resources evenly, how can you move towards a 90:10 rule.
90% extremely safe and conservative, 10% experimental and speculative.
That’s one of the rules that I’m operating under when I’m building this library.
