I’m kiiiind of debating my name. If I want to take the singer thing seriously when I begin, my name is an important factor. I’ve asked around and apparently many Non-Arabs don’t see El Mushterri as an Arab or even Ethnic name, they see it as a weird mishmash of the words mushroom and Terri or something. I’m not offended by that but I don’t want that to be the wide perception.

I love El Mushterri and it has taken me so far, but I very much worry about its mass appeal. Some people can’t say it, some can’t spell it— that’s important to me.
What’s the alternative?
Well 😈 I kinda stole an OC name I believe fits me to a T, honestly.

Sidra

As a singer name.

Buuuut oh man. This is one of the toughest decisions I’ve had to make here.

El Mushterri is unique, but like I said, many think it’s not a name, and many can’t say or spell it.
Sidra is pretty, professional and clean but how could I part with El Mushterri??

(Note, nothing about my channel would change, I would stillll be making all the content I do!)

Sure, I could make Sidra a new channel but then, would my social media’s be “El Mushterri” or “Sidra” or what?? I like consistency in my names.

This is ridiculously tough 😅😅.

I’ve asked Tumblr and Insta, but ofc they know me as El Mushterri so.. I guess we’re all biased?

But you guys are my main audience. So what do you think a Singer should be named and why?

I want to do one again now— since I'm not feeling my
LN rewrite (the script is all done but I don't.. feel it.)


What storylines, etc would you include in an ideal Winx reboot?

I was bored today and watched Disney’s Wish. Oh man. Ohh…
It was as bad as people say. With Frozen 2, there was at least potential…
I might still be able to fix it. I’ve never watched anyone’s Wish rewrite, so I haven’t been influenced.

I have so many thoughts! One being abt the music. Frozen 2 wasn’t good story-wise but the music was gorgeous. With Wish.. I don’t know what they were going for. Why pop?? Why did some of the lyrics actually not make sense in English at all? Why does every song have emphasis on the wrong syllables in the words….

I’ve got to rewrite it.. 😭 It’s so disappointing for THE 100 year anniversary of Disney. Asha should be “THE”princess, she should’ve been as big as Elsa or this generation’s Kpop Demon Hunters but she was just kind of there. What a miss! Did no one tell the writers this was for their 100th birthday????

Oh, my sona? Is she part of a concept musical? Yes? Yes.
(I couldn’t fit the two images in so I split them into four.)

I speak about it on Tumblr and my latest video:
Failed Star Jupiter is a concept musical (That I write and record and all) about Jupiter being manipulated by Pluto to overthrow the Sun.

It’s a fun, planetary ‘politics’ (fake, fantasy ones of COURSE) show. Scandals, fighting for positions and billion-year-old messy planet drama. Oh, with fight scenes ofc. Why be a fencer in real life and not include any fights in your songs?

This is the story people make moonsonas/planetsonas/etc for!

The first two images are their main outfits, and the second is their gala outfits. Like it says, Dance of the Planets (a real term) is when a star hosts a gala in their system every millennium!

The planets’ outfits are *loosely* based off of certain cultures (Mars = Japan, Venus = Philippines, Saturn = Kuwait, Uranus = India)

They’ve all got distinct personalities. My favourite? Uranus. Rebellion lover who still has to help run the Solar System— A total problem stirrer, the messiest planet.

Okay I’ve gotta make a video! Not sure what… Maybe I do another “Redrawing Subscriber’s Ocs” now that I’m an animation student have more experience. I could add a QnA to it, maybe?

Honestly the most popular thing will probaaaably be the subscriber redraw so I won’t make it an explicit option, but it willlll happen! (Either next video or the one after, cause I’d like to rewrite Jentry Chau or TOTK soon)

1. You can give me a description of your oc! A bit of their story and things I “need” to keep in their design for it to make sense. Let’s keep it around **100 to 150** ish words (I won’t count, so don’t worry tooo much).

2. Tell me if you want me to be faithful to your story or just do whatever I want (within reason) with the design. I won’t like, make up a new AU entirely if you give me freedom, only something I think would make sense.

3. I’ll only do one of your characters out of 2 possible options (so basically you CAN give me 2 but I’ll choose).

4. Please make it Safe for Work. Mild gore and creepiness is fine but no body horror, or anything s****l content.

(The last one is me basically writing out all the fnaf lore and my friend corrects me when I get something wrong and you can watch me descent into madness. I get SO angry at fnaf lore.)

Everyone asked for Wild Kratts so I’m watching it!

The thing that differentiates this rewrite is that— I found out: The main characters, the Kratts brothers, are based on real people. I’ve asked on Tumblr already but

Would you guys prefer if I considered the brothers ‘fictional characters’ or keep them as the ‘real people’.
The first option would allow me to properly rewrite the show as a Young Adult show. The second option would limit it a bit but if that’s what people prefer, I’ll do that.

I was having trouble figuring out how to do rewritey/story related stuff that would also include music buuuut

What if I made a video like:

“Writing (short) songs for OC animatics from requests”

or a title like that. Basically (if all goes well) you guys send me things like

- “Character A and Character B are in a permanent reincarnation cycle and love each other/hate each other/destined to lose each other” (can be a comedy song or an angsty one)

- or “Character A is trying to kill Character B but somehow they keep failing

not too vague, not too specific. Scenario’s your choice.

So I mean if the songs are up to my standard I’ll post it, if not,,, back to the drawing board but there’s nothing to lose from it sooo..!

Hello, hi! 😭😭
This disappearance wasn’t a random dip in motivation, rather university just started again and I gotta put uni first and whatnot 💔

I still have a bunch of video ideas and a bunch of stuff to do but I’d like to be a bit more open here.
I don’t just want to do rewrites and art, not that that’ll ever go away. I just also want to also do ‘me’ stuff. That does not mean vlogging. Honestly, most of what I do will still be what I’m doing now, cause it’s most fun for me.

But, and this is hard to admit 😭, I also do music. Not really rock or pop but this,.. Rabbitology, Aurora, whatever genre that is. (Folk, indie? Whimsycore?)

And I’m just wondering if you guys would be okay with seeing that too. I’m really conscious and critical about it, and I worry about it not meeting your standards. It’s definitely not the ol’ “YouTuber turns into a singer” thing cause I’m not that kinda youtuber (CouGhGabbieHannaandCodyKo) and I’ve always been into music. I’ve gotten much better in the past year.

I know how to arrange music on software but since I’m not a proper producer it definitely ‘sounds indie’, but I try my best to make it clean as possible.

And unrelatedly here’s some pics from a photoshoot I did at my fencing club. (The first one is a real fencing position, the second is just dramatic. 😭)

So yeah I’d appreciate feedback on the idea of a silly spacey fencer singer artist.. thing. Again, the rewrites aren’t going anywhere ✨
