Hey guys, I know I haven’t posted on here for forever— this channel (iamnathan) became a place for me to share a specific album that I had written, but since I put that out, I have totally shifted gears from that project. Going forward I am just gonna be focusing on music production, teaching people, and uploading beats under the name “produced by Naja” (including some Deftones stuff which is why most of you started following me in the first place lol)
Anyways, if any of you are still here, super appreciate you guys rocking with the channel for so long! And don’t be surprised by name change 😀🙏
You guys have been asking me for over a year to drop a full version…. So I’m finally gonna do it!!! Dropping the full version of “Deftones in the studio” tomorrow on my @LOYAmusic channel!!
If you like Deftones, The Weeknd, Massive Attack, and stuff like that, be sure to sub to my other channel @LOYAmusic — I just put out a new cover song today I think you’ll enjoy! Check it out: https://youtu.be/Fx6UV9Ea1N0
Idk if you noticed, but I just released my album today :) It took a year and a half to write, record and release this music, and I went through hell for it. Give a listen, hope you enjoy: ffm.to/imaaasfth
I just put out a brand new song called “Fall Asleep”. It’s about being tortured by guilt, inadequacy, and sabotaging your own relationship. You can listen to it here on YouTube or on whatever platform you prefer :) enjoy! ffm.to/fallasleep
🥹🥹🥹 Last night I played a show, and let me tell you, there was love floating around every inch of the venue: from the crowd to the bands, from all the bands to everyone in the building, and from every sweaty person in the pit to everyone else. It was magical and a beautiful reminder that music is about something bigger than sound: it’s about love and connecting with other people ❤️My dear friend Adam captured some great shots of me performing, but before I post those, I wanted to share these photos of the true stars of the show: the dope humans I’m lucky enough to call friends who showed up to share this experience with me. Even if we didn’t get a picture together, just know that if you were there, you mean the world to me and I’m grateful as hell for you ☺️ (PS the 4th and 5th pic is a before and after Max calls me a cutie-pie)
In most of the “So Cold” music video, I’m walking along path next to some train tracks by my house. I’ve spent a lot of time walking and driving around, trying to feel something other than gnawing loss eating at my insides. These were some photos I took walking and driving around a year ago, which is when I wrote “So Cold”, mourning the absence of a relationship I cherished but couldn’t be in anymore.
I absolutely didn’t know it at the time, but a few months later, this song was going to take on deeper meaning for me. I was familiar with longing and bittersweet-tinged loneliness, but I was going to learn new types of pain: regret and despair in ways I’d never known. I realized I had made a terrible mistake. I’d thrown away the most beautiful gift I’d ever been given, and there was no way to take this back or undo it. This was a pain so great it seemed unreconcilable.
I was crying so much, hour after hour, day after day, that I lost my ability to sing for weeks. I didn’t know how to proceed. But I kept moving, and while the pieces haven’t put themselves back together again, I’m still here, and I’ve channeled all of those emotions and fragments of love into releasing this song and all the other songs I have yet to give to the world. I’m grateful to share it all with you.
Hello friends, just wanted to let you know I’m putting out a new song called “So Cold” next week ❤️ This song is about regret, and wishing with everything inside you that you could go back and do things differently. When we were recording the vocals, I started crying when we got to the bridge section. It was crucial for me to make, to put that all emotion into this song, and I hope it translates when you hear it.
If you use Spotify, I’d really like to encourage you to pre-save the song: it’s helpful for me as an artist trying to reach new listeners, and it’s helpful for you as a listener to hear cool music that you’ll enjoy 👉 ffm.to/iamnathan
