Rajendra B. Aklekar (born 1974) is an Indian author with multiple best-selling books on transport history and heritage. He is the biographer of India’s legendary railway engineer Dr E Sreedharan. He is also a working journalist with about 32 years’ experience writing on Mumbai’s public transport and infrastructure. His interests include railway history & heritage, public transport & infra, archiving & documentation and is also a trained museologist. He is presently employed with one of Mumbai’s oldest tabloids, Mid-Day, as Deputy City Editor. With museology from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (formerly the Prince of Wales Museum, Mumbai, Aklekar is also a Google-certified Digital Marketer. His first book with Rupa Publications ‘Halt Station India’ was short-listed at Bengaluru Literary Festival 2015 for best Non-Fiction of the Year. He has worked in numerous prominent print publications.
