Hi, I’m Elliot Dickinson (they/she), the person behind Fareweld.
I’ve always loved nature, but having a completely unrelated 9-5 left me feeling a bit useless whenever another headline about climate change or biodiversity loss popped up. The itch to do something more was there, but I felt like I lacked the means, and the qualifications.
I came to realise, though, that even though I’m not a scientist or ecologist or zoologist, there were ways I could try to help, even indirectly. Maybe I could inspire someone to go hiking for the first time. Maybe I could inspire someone to think about the way they buy clothing. Maybe I could inspire someone who would later become a scientist or ecologist or zoologist.
So, whether it’s hiking gear advice, a vlog in the countryside, or a video essay about environmentalism, the aim is simple: plant the seed, and get more people touching grass.
