One Minimal Life

Hi! Thank you so much for watching today's video!
In case you'd like to try it at home, here is the step-by-step guide to follow along. 📹 https://youtu.be/S0vElWFmmMQ
Please do have fun with it☺️

🫕 One-Pot Low-Heat Whole Foods Cooking Guide ✨

Pick your favourite wholefoods, and there are no strict rules on picking them.
Note: Some veggies take longer to cook, so you may need to adjust heating time, but make sure not to go over medium heat.

🥬 PREP
🥦 Reduce pesticides from vegetables:
1: Mix 1 tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda + 2 cups water
2: Soak veggies 10 mins
3: Rinse well

🌾 Reduce arsenic from rice:
1: Rinse rice
2: Soak in 5:1 water ratio and boil once → turn off → wait 5 mins
3: Drain & rinse well

⏲ Let's Cook
Step 1:
🧄 Crush the garlic first and leave about 5 minutes while preparing the other bits)
Prepare the rice: Add beans + rice + water (just cover contents)
Cut your vegetables (varied cuts = various textures and sweetness)

Step 2:
Add firm veg to the pot first.
Leave sweet potato and broccoli aside for now (to protect heat-sensitive vitamins)
Keep on medium heat, 15-20 mins
(Timing will vary depending on your hob, pot and portion, so adjust accordingly)
Add sea salt when the ingredients get soft

Step 3:
🥦 Then, add sweet potato + broccoli
Cook 5 more mins

Step 4:
Make a well in the centre, crack the egg and pour it in.
Lid on, heat OFF
Leave it for about 10-15 mins (retained heat cooks by itself)

Step 5:
Add beetroot dressing + sesame for your flavour.
Optopnally, fresh herbs such as thyme and basil are lovely too.

✨ Enjoy mindful eating✨
Low-heat cooking brings out pure, rich flavours of natural goodness.
The eggs cooked with retained heat not only keep nutrients but also get a mochi-like texture 😋

What's your favourite usual meal?
If you have any questions, please let me know in the comments.

Thank you so much! 💖 Have a wonderful day, and a Lovely dinner!

One Minimal Life

Hello! I hope you're having a lovely day 😊
Thank you for watching the latest video about letting go of habits 💕
Today, I've also written a blog article about the books that helped me get my habits sorted and build routines for breaking old patterns (and creating meaningful ones).

📚 5 Habit-Building Books That Shaped My Minimalist Life
You can read it here
👉 oneminimallife.com/5-habit-building-books-for-mini…

These helped me build minimalist habits.
Although none of them is specifically about minimalism, they formed the core of my practical routines.

I thought they might be useful and nice for some cosy holiday reading too 🌟.
Also, If you've read any of them, I'd love to know what you thought.

Have a lovely day and see you soon.
Keep warm ☕️

One Minimal Life

Thank you so much for visiting today! Great to see you! ☺️
Habit decluttering, especially habits that have been familiar, is a long, ongoing journey.
I found that reflecting on this from time to time really helps build new habits that serve us better. ✨
I'd love to share the step-by-step guide to the habit-breaking routine I used.
These can be applied to other habits too.

1: Set Environment 🏠
Track and reflect on when the habit happens.
What did you see/feel/hear when you did that habit? (Clock, snack, noise, notification...)
Remove the cause = Remove the trigger.

2: Aware of Trigger = Spot the Action 👀
When the environment is clear, it's easier to spot when the habit starts.
If a small sign (that the habit is occurring) appears, don't push it away.

Go into it and become aware that the habit is happening.
Know you're doing that habit right now.

3: Picture the Consequences, Not Rewards 💭
We often continue habits because of the "reward" that is familiar.
But when we refocus on the consequences of continuing, our protective brain starts working and begins to feel uncomfortable keeping it going.
And this helps us stop.

At this stage, thinking of rewards (of quitting) is less effective as we tend to act more strongly to avoid danger than to gain rewards.

4: Walk Away 🚶‍♀️
An effective way for me to walk away from the habit loop is self-talk.
Questioning myself: "Are you sure about that?" Remembering step 3: Consequences.

Letting those habits go secures space to welcome better habits into life.
One habit out, one habit in. Replacing them one by one.

5: REPEAT 🔄
Habits aren't stuff, they're sort of fluid (or even like air). They can flow in through tiny gaps and stay. It's vital to keep repeating until it becomes natural.
I take time to get used to things when they're uncomfortable, so for me, some habit decluttering routines have taken years.

Please rest assured, it will work and you'll be fine even if it doesn't seem to be working within a couple of months.

The most important thing is to take care of yourself. 💛
Do you have a habit-breaking routine that's worked for you? 💬

Thank you so much as always! ☺️ 💖

Hi, I hope you’re having a lovely day!

Currently, I’m working on a new video 🤩 🎥,
but in the meantime...

I just filmed a little coffee brewing clip and made a short video to go with my new blog published today ☕️

It's a bit random... but just wanted to share.
Here’s the spontaneous short video 👉 youtube.com/shorts/a7poqUZ0sv...

I wrote about how it’s been and how I brew it every day:
oneminimallife.com/how-to-use-metal-coffee-filter/
Hope you enjoy it.

It’s a reusable metal coffee dripper I’ve been using for two years (time flies!) and it’s still going strong. Related video: https://youtu.be/V5DZWq2tNgc

Thanks so much as always, and have a wonderful day!

Hello! I’ve just published a new blog✨ featuring the breakfast Overnight Oats recipe from the morning routine video:
https://youtu.be/Ua2-xsVI5EQ?si=2_vnN...

I’ve also included some useful healthy information in the blog.
Here’s the blog and recipe
😊👉🏻 oneminimallife.com/minimalist-overnight-oats/

Overnight Oats breakfast is more than just a trend or a time-saver; it’s also packed with health benefits and tastes delicious.
This one isn’t the usual sweet version.

It’s my favourite minimalist savoury Overnight Oats, made for those who:
✨ Want a breakfast that keeps them fuller for longer without high calories
✨ Follow a vegan diet
✨ Prefer to avoid sugar, gluten and oil
✨ Are mindful of blood sugar spikes in the morning

And.. here is the meal prep demo 👉🏻 youtube.com/shorts/0CkC8th_JE...

I hope you find it useful.

Have a lovely day and see you in the next video soon!
Thank you so much!!

One Minimal Life

Hello! 😃 Happy to see you!
I've put together key point summaries from the video.
[Digital Minimalism Essential ✨ Relaxed Edition]

1: Set Boundaries 🚪

☑️ Limit Notifications: Email, calls, calendar (reminders) ON. All others OFF.
☑️ Aeroplane Mode ON: For focus time, meetings, lectures, or before deadlines.
☑️ Social Media Rule: Use it for info search. If an entertaining post comes whilst scrolling, that's my trigger to stop.
☑️ Limit App Time: A maximum of 15 minutes a day. (Except calls, map, schedule/reminder, camera)
☑️ Time Rule: Sleep mode 👉 22:30 - 8:30

2: Phone Declutter 📱

☑️ Not on my phone: Shopping apps, game apps, hyped apps. Just because everyone has it doesn't mean you have to have it too.
🤭 I was asked to get WhatsApp many times, but I still don't.
☑️ Regularly tidy photo album: Whilst you wait for the bus, NHS, British queue... (instead of scrolling social media)
☑️ Keep only apps you actually use: For practical purposes, not for entertaining. Delete anything that kills time.

3: Desktop Declutter 🖥️

☑️ Wallpaper as a vision board: You'll see the desktop wallpaper every day.
☑️ Clear desktop: Combine cluttered screenshots into one PDF file.
☑️ Number folder names: It reduces searching time for folders and files.
These simple tweaks can reclaim your time.

4: Notebook Setup 📘

☑️ All-in-one notebook: One notebook for a daily journal. Keeping everything in one place makes it easier to track and prevents you from breaking focus by jumping between notebooks.
☑️ Occasional idea book: To store thoughts and quotes that I occasionally open.
⚡️ My most creative ideas only come up when I'm not looking at screens.

5: Remove Boundaries 🌳
☑️ Sometimes it's nicer to be intentional about where we are and what we are looking at in real life, instead of looking down at the screen.
☑️ Be intentional about light: Shift from blue light to natural light sometimes. Or shift from the PC Windows to the real window.
☑️ Taste food more than capturing it: Don't forget to appreciate it with human senses, not to be taken over by photographic aesthetics, to memorise taste and feelings rather than the shape of the food.

If you'd like to dive deep into some of the topics, please let me know!
I'd love to make a dedicated video on request.

Have a wonderful day!☺️💕

One Minimal Life

Hello! 😄 What’s the most challenging part of your daily routine right now?

For me, especially when unexpected things happen, it sometimes takes much more effort to organise the flow of the day. Maintaining the simplest habits and planning is crucial, but yes, it does take some effort. ⚡️

What about you?🌱
Please vote in the poll. Or if you have anything else, please let me know too.

** Sorry, I made some typos earlier on the pool. I've corrected them now.🙏

One Minimal Life

Thank you for coming along! How's your day? I hope you enjoy the new video of my typical day working from home✨☺️
I love to share a little breakdown of the key actions I do each day (and why).

[My Staple Daily Habits]

Morning: ☀️
➡️ My body clock wakes me at 6:30 am
➡️ 10-minute stretches (never skipped for 4 years)
➡️ 3 minutes of gratitude, just staying still, reflecting, and breathing. Easy to stick to.
➡️ 5 minutes of overthinking time: I get all my thoughts out onto paper.
Using a physical note is surprisingly more effective than digital 📝

Afternoon: ☁️
➡️ I constantly pay attention to my posture and how I sit and walk, as I never do sports or go to the gym.
It helps my digestion too 😁

➡️ I schedule most communication for the afternoon (meetings, emails, appointments)

Evening: 🌙
➡️ I set aside time for video editing in the evening,
because... one problem is... I cannot stop once I start (forget to sleep or eat!)

➡️ I spend the rest of the evening prepping for the next day, giving myself the best reason to wake up:
☑️ Plan the next day
☑️ Prep breakfast (overnight oats)
☑️ Prep clothes and bags (if going out)
☑️ Leave the phone outside the bedroom
☑️ Take a bath and go straight to sleep whilst my body is warm

🧴I used to do many beauty routines, realising all I spent was just money and time... 💸
So I simplified my skincare and prioritised going to sleep earlier.
This change has transformed my life and my skin!

☀️What's your favourite part of your typical day?
☕ I always go to bed looking forward to breakfast, even though it's exactly the same every day. I love to embrace the atmosphere and how that moment feels.

How about you? 😃✨

Have an amazing day! 💕
Thank you so much as always ☺️!!

One Minimal Life

Thank you for joining the cleaning series!✨
Here, I’ve listed what I use for my minimalist cleaning routine at home.

[Cleaning Tools for Natural and Minimal Cleaning Routine]

1: Vacuum Cleaner + Adapters
I use a compact handheld vacuum with some attachments, depending on the purpose, so there is no need for extra sweeps.
It’s lightweight and rechargeable. I prefer not to own a large vacuum with wheels and a cord 😅

2: E-cloth
This is great for everyday wiping and regular cleaning. It is machine washable, and I only need water to clean surfaces.
Although it is labelled for glass use, I can use it on all surfaces at home.

3: Eco Tech Cleaning Spray
Important: Do not spray directly onto devices. I learned that the hard way years ago🥲
Spray 2–3 pushes onto the cloth that comes with the kit, then wipe gently.
It works beautifully on screens.

4: Zeolite
A natural mineral formed from volcanic ash, zeolite absorbs moisture and removes odour.
It is simple and natural 🌿 No more chemical fresheners.

5: Multipurpose Cleaner
Any multipurpose cleaner will do, but I stick to vegan and non-toxic options.
They do the job and feel more thoughtful in their use.

6: Old Towels
I keep old towels from decluttering or when doing one in, one out.
I cut them into pieces for wiping shelves and floors when I’m not using the E-cloth and am using a multi-purpose cleaner.

7: Dishwashing Sponges or Body Wash Cloths
When I replace worn-out body cloths or dish sponges, I keep the old ones for scrubbing.
This way, I don’t need to buy extra cleaning sponges, which reduces waste.

8: Bath Sponge
This cleaning system has a replaceable sponge part, dries quickly, and lasts more than six months 🧽
Simple, practical, and small 🧼🌱

I hope you enjoy the video.
Thank you so much!

Have a lovely day and take care✨💖
