Siddhartha Gautama, who later became known as the Buddha, is believed to have been born around 563 BCE in Lumbini, which is in present-day Nepal. He was born into a royal family as a prince of the Shakya clan.

At the age of 29, he left his luxurious palace life in search of truth and a way to overcome suffering. After years of spiritual practice and deep meditation, he attained enlightenment at the age of 35 under the Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya, India.

Therefore, if he was born around 563 BCE, he would have become the Buddha around 528 BCE.

It’s important to note that the exact dates may vary slightly depending on different historical sources and traditions. Some scholars suggest he may have been born as late as 480 BCE. But the traditional Theravāda Buddhist timeline places his birth at 563 BCE and his enlightenment at 528 BCE.
