🚨 Nonprofit friends, heads-up about GoFundMe.
Last week, GoFundMe quietly created 1.4 million pages for U.S. charities — without consent. These pages can collect donations, but many nonprofits don’t even know they exist, and the info on them may be outdated or incorrect.
Here’s what you can do right now:
✅ Go to GoFundMe and search your organization’s name or EIN.
✅ If you find a page, claim it.
✅ Check the payout settings and update your mission, logo, and links.
✅ If you don’t want to use it, turn off the public view and submit a removal request.
✅ Let your donors know where the real donation link is.
This isn’t about resisting technology; it’s about protecting donor trust and making sure funds actually reach your mission.

Donors don’t stop giving because they can’t. They stop giving because they don’t feel connected.
👉 13% never got thanked.
👉 9% don’t even remember giving.
👉 36% felt another nonprofit needed their support more.
The good news? Every one of these reasons is preventable. A simple thank-you, a clear update, and consistent communication can turn one-time donors into lifelong supporters.
Fundraising isn’t just about asking. It’s about keeping the door open so they want to walk back through it again.

You're Not ‘Bad at Fundraising.’ You're Just Missing a System.
If you keep putting off fundraising until you have more time, you’ll always feel behind.
Here’s a better way...
Spend 12 minutes a day on:
• Mondays – Stewarding past donors
• Tuesdays – Researching new funders
• Wednesdays – Cultivating warm leads
• Thursdays – Making the ask
• Fridays – Reporting back
Yes, that’s one hour a week. Yes, it works.
But here’s the truth: Fundraising habits are the easy part.
What most founders need is a strategy that builds momentum.
That’s what I teach inside my coaching www.causespecialists.ca/nonprofit-coaching

🚀 Imagine this… 20 supporters each ask 25 friends for $100. Boom—$50,000 raised. Even if just 10 supporters each asked 10 people for $100, that’s still $10,000!
It’s simpler than you think, and in my latest video I show you exactly how to make it happen for your nonprofit. Watch now and start picturing your next big win! 🎯

We talk a lot about donor acquisition, but what about donor memory?
It’s not the big things that cause supporters to drift away... it’s the silence after their gift.
The absence of gratitude.
The feeling that they didn’t matter.
Your thank-you isn’t just good manners. It’s donor retention strategy.
If you’re behind, don’t panic. Catch up. Say thanks. It’s never too late to make someone feel seen.

🧠 The nonprofit brain never really clocks out.
Sure, we set out to change the world…
But no one warned us that would include writing grants at midnight, overthinking board recruitment, or whispering “capacity-building” like it’s a spell.
If you’ve ever laid awake wondering if a raccoon would make a good board member… you’re in good company.
This is your sign to take a breath, laugh a little, and remember: you’re not alone, you’re just a nonprofit leader.
