Seoul Trip Walk

Recently, I have been reading several books. The autobiographies of Akira Kurosawa were also memorable, and the books of Alain de Botton and Dale Carnegie were interesting. They were all meaningful times. Recently, I have been reading Martin E.P. Seligman's "Learned Optimism," and this book has been a great help. If you feel down or think your life is unhappy, read it. An attempt to read this book has far better potential than a life that is not. This book will surely take you out of the swamp of pessimism and lead you to the hills of optimism.

Seoul Trip Walk

It is 10:20 p.m. in Seoul. It is raining. Maybe this rain will end this summer. The wind is cool and sometimes very cool. So I feel good now.

On a rainy night, I recall the moment I walked around Seoul to film YouTube videos. It was lonely, but thanks, I had a strange and interesting experience. I also walked on a path that no one has ever been to.

There's a saying that everything becomes a good memory over time, and I think that's really true.

now, the waterways all over Seoul are black and rough. I hid myself in a small but cozy umbrella, and stood looking at it.

I love the sound of rain coming into the dark. The cold wind came to my room to play. I think it's going to be a good night.

Seoul Trip Walk

Located in the east of Seoul, Gangdong-gu is the name of the place. It was a huge apartment complex that had just been built. It felt overwhelming. For Koreans, apartments in Seoul are the object of envy and awe that they want to achieve throughout their lives. Some Koreans divide their lives into success and failure, depending on whether they have it or not. The street trees planted next to the apartments were still so beautifully colored with light green, even after early spring had passed. It was an amazing scenery with nice weather.

The yellow flowers blooming on the neat side of the road were so pretty. The flowers smiled and gave me a high-five.

A foreigner I met at the entrance of Mt. Godeok. I took a picture of him in the back to remember him. Looking like he was in his 70s, he was the only one who greeted me as I walked for seven and a half hours on courses 6 and 7 in Seoul Dulle-gil(a big walk around Seoul) . Korea rarely has a culture of greeting strangers. So I felt good when he greeted me. I greeted him a little awkwardly.

It was nice to be able to exchange greetings with people from all over the world when I traveled to Chin-Quetere, which is famous for its hiking trails in the western sea of Italy. It remains a very memorable moment for me with its wonderful scenery. and A little Italian boy said "Ciao" to me, who was wandering around the accommodation at sunset. (I returned the greeting to an Italian traveler a few years later in Hahoe Village, Andong, Korea. "Ciao")

If Korea also had a culture of smiling and greeting strangers, I thought that Korea's high suicide rate would naturally decrease. Feeling warmth from others is important in life. The foreigner will remember Korea much longer if there is Korean who smiles and greets him first.

Mt. Godeok (86 meters) in Gangdong-gu, was sitting on a bench watching the scene and resting. I felt great as the cool river breeze blew. That bridge is Godeok Bridge, which is not completed yet. The blue sky and water surface, the mountains in the distance and the greenery surrounding, so lovely.

A haphazard discovery!

서울의 동쪽에 위치한 이곳의 지명은 강동구다. 지어진지 얼마되지 않은 거대한 아파트 단지. 압도감이 느껴졌다. 한국인들에게 서울의 아파트는 일평생 이루고 싶은 선망과 경외의 대상이다. 어떤 한국인들은 그것을 갖었는가, 갖지 못했는가에 따라 자신의 인생을 성공과 실패로 나눈다. 아파트 옆에 심어진 가로수들이 초봄이 지났음에도 불구하고, 여전히 너무나 아름다운 연두빛으로 물들어 있었다. 좋은 날씨와 더불어 놀라운 풍경이었다.

나름 단정하게 꾸며진 길가에 핀 노란 꽃들이 너무 예뻤다. 뙤약뼡을 걷느라 지친 나에게 꽃들은 웃으며 하이파이브를 해 주었다.

고덕산 입구에서 만난 외국인. 나는 그를 기억하기 위해 뒷 모습을 찍었다. 70대로 보이는 그는 내가 서울 둘레길 6, 7번 코스를 7시간 30분동안 걸으면서 나에게 인사를 건낸 유일한 사람이었다. 한국은 낯선 타인에게 인사를 하는 문화가 거의 없다. 그래서 그가 나에게 인사를 건넸을 때 기분이 좋았다.

이탈리아 서해의 다섯 마을을 완주하는 하이킹 코스로 유명한 친퀘테레를 여행했었을 땐, 세계 각지에서 여행 온 사람들과 함께 인사를 주고 받을 수 있어서 좋았다. 그것은 그곳의 멋진 경치와 함께 내게 매우 좋은 기억으로 남아있다. 해질 무렵 숙소 주변을 배회하던 나에게 "챠오"하고 인사를 이탈리아 꼬마도. (나는 그 인사를 몇 년후, 한국 안동 하회마을에서 한 이탈리아 여행자들에게 돌려주었다)

한국에도 모르는 사람과 웃으며 인사를 나누는 문화가 있다면, 나는 한국의 높은 자살율도 당연히 낮아질 것이라고 생각했다. 저 외국인도 이 길을 홀로 걸으면서 자신을 향해 웃으며 먼저 인사를 하는 사람이 있다면 훨씬 더 오래 한국을 기억할 것이다.

강동구 고덕산(86m). 벤치에 앉아 저 풍경을 바라보며 쉬었다. 시원한 강바람이 불어와 기분이 좋았다. 저 다리는 고덕대교(구리대교)인데, 아직 완공되지 않았다. 파랗게 물든 하늘과 수면, 멀리 선명하게 보이는 산과 주변을 둘러싼 녹음들. 좋은 순간이었다.

Seoul Trip Walk

I watched a soccer game with an acquaintance at a bar in Mangwon Station. The atmosphere inside the bar was good. As time passed, their bodies were filled with beer and saw their bodies, their laughter getting disorganized differently from the beginning. Perhaps I was no different from them. At the end of the game, I got up from my seat and came back home. It was so cold. I ran through the alley because it was hard and boring to walk home.

망원역 한 술집에서 지인과 축구경기를 보았다. 바 안은 분위기가 괜찮았다. 시간이 지날수록 그들의 몸은 맥주로 채워졌고 그들의 몸가짐, 웃음소리가 처음과 다르게 흐트러지는 것을 보았다. 아마 나도 그들과 다르지 않았을 것이다. 경기가 끝날 무렵 자리에서 일어나 집으로 돌아왔다. 너무 추운 날씨였다. 나는 집으로 걸어가는 길이 힘들고 지루해 골목을 뛰었다.
