Born and raised in Newburgh, N.Y. began to
study the Martial Arts in 1973. Moving to S.E. Florida in 1978, he studied Chinese and American Kenpo Karate. Sensei Kevin received 1rst degree Black Belt under SiFu Thomas Elmore and SiFu Pat Yax in 1986.
Sensei Kevin became interested in 1991 in Nisei GoJu Ryu and studied under Grandmaster Frank Ruiz until his demise in 1995. Sensei also studied under then Kyoshi Bill Wendell then in the Nisei System, Sensei Kevin has competed for many years in the Florida's S.E. Tournament Circuit, he was 1995 UFSKA Form Champion. He received his Teaching Licenses from: Shihan Frank Ruiz and Hanshi Wilfredo Roldan. Sensei Kevin is currently Teaching Selected Students in S.E. Florida. 6th Degree Black Belt in Kenpo Karate under Professor Thomas Elmore. Kevin Fookes YoDan Renshi 4th Degree Black Belt under Hanshi Wilfredo Roldan in Nisei GoJu Ryu System. At the present, putting all together to create who I am.
