Ten Billion Ants

I am against tipping. The reasoning behind it as a concept alludes me. Think about it. Let’s say I don’t tip the waiter. Who made that choice? Me. I wrote 0% in the tip section. Now, aside from tips, what determines the waiter’s pay? Their employer, the restaurant. Keep this in mind, as I’m about to go on another tangent, but I promise it’s relevant. Let’s say the waiter asks me not to tip them, but I give them a tip anyway. They receive the tip. Regardless of what they wanted; they received the tip. So, in that respect, the waiter has no input. They cannot stop or compel me to do anything. They have no relevance to the result. No input. Now, as a basic principle of efficiency, something that is unimportant is not worth considering. Therefore, the only thing I should consider when deciding whether or not to tip a waiter is whether or not I want to tip them, and as a reasonable person I see no reason to lose money if I don't have to.
