Unfortunent news. I am not very active right now due to personal reasons. Jake, the farm dog, passed away a bit ago. He had health issues due to his age and had to get put down. This happened, I believe, in late February.
Update on Joanns: GA group had the winning bid. all Joanns stores will be set to close by the end of May 2025. GA Group will be liquidating all stores.
Update on Joanns: Unfortunate news for crafters. Joanns is closing 500 out of their 800 stores. That will be over half of their stores. From what I'm hearing from reliable sources, Florida will be one of the states to be hit the hardest. Someone stated, "Joanns believes that closing these stores will allow a potential bidder to feel safer when bidding on the company due to how much debt there is." There are tons of news organizations covering this. Although there is not a full list of all the stores that will be closing, "court filings reveal stores are closing in all 50 states." The states that will be hit the most are California, Florida, Indiana, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington state. Joanns first filed for chapter 11 in March of 2024. They continued to stay open as a private company. Their second file for chapter 11 was last month. Saying inventory issues that were "acute and unexpected" are to blame.
So far, it does not look good. For some good news. There looks to be a buyer on Joanns, which is Gordan Brothers Retail Partners. Will be looking more into this and will give more updates.
CNN and other news companies have some more information on this.
(My grandma told me not to post this so I don't cause panic, but that is not at all the intension, it's just an update.)
I may lose followers due to this major switch in content. I'm definitely fine with that. As long as I'm still doing content that I love, that I can continue to do and share with y'all, that y'all enjoy as well.
For some context; I stopped riding horses over a year ago due to personal reasons and never got back into it cause of how expensive it has gotten. I also have more responsibility with school and work (now finding a job that is less anxiety provoking and that I enjoy).
I recently got back into Crocheting and stopped due to the fact I lost a lot of motivation after my therapist told my grandparents to lock it up. I basically forgot how much I loved to crochet and stopped for 6+ months to almost a year.
Now, I'm trying to keep myself from going into burnout and trying to take constant breaks to avoid that burnout. I want to thank y'all for sticking with me through this. And your endless support.
I want to begin thanking all 10.1k of y'all for your endless support through the years on TikTok. I really appreciate it. Until we meet again ~ Long Horn
TikTok left US users a message. And I want to give thanks to all the people keeping us up to date on what was going on with the ban. I also want to thank all the people fighting behind the scenes to keep TikTok in the United States. Thank you for being our voice. This fight is not over!
Cap cut was banned along with the TikTok ban. Many are pretty frustrated about this, including myself. So many people were surrounding the TikTok ban that most of us forgot that Cap Cut's parent company is Byte Dance. Along with lemon8. I didn't realize until the last minute that Cap Cut was owned by Byte Dance. Since I knew that lemon8 had a high chance of getting banned. The thought of Cap Cut getting banned put me on edge. I don't really know how else I can edit my photos and videos like Cap Cut did. Im trying Microsoft's ClipChamp editing app. But it's definitely not the same. Cap Cut's templates were very helpful to a lot of people. Not only that, but all the features. Seeing the app grow and become more evolved was an awesome experience. Although some of the features were premium, it still was a great editing platform. I will surely miss this software.
