MVRDV has secured approval for Schieblocks, a 47,000-square-meter office complex poised to become the largest privately developed office project currently under construction in the Netherlands. Standing 61 meters tall beside the central railway, the design features 11 stacked, vividly colored blocks with façades that merge recycled brickwork and building-integrated photovoltaic panels. In Hangzhou’s Xiaoshan District, Snøhetta has been selected as the winner of an international competition to design the Qiantang Bay Art Museum — a new cultural landmark at the heart of the city’s Future Headquarters development. Positioned where the Qiantang River meets the Central Water Axis, the project marks the point where Hangzhou’s growing downtown begins to open toward the waterfront. At this confluence, the 18,000-square-meter museum will act as both a civic centerpiece and a gateway to the district.

The design concept draws inspiration from the passage of time and the movement of water. Echoing the rhythm of the tides and the layered history of the river, Snøhetta shapes the museum as a composition of fluid forms and open rooftop terraces — a structure that emerges from the landscape and conveys a sense of continuous motion.
