I've mentioned this on stream a few times but thought it best to make a post incase anybody is specifically looking for an answer to this. They're will be a decent gap between last video and the coming video due to the scope of it.
This is fairly typical in my upload schedule with 3-4 months between but for past five I've been getting videos out on a monthly basis. This was largely able to be done because these videos didn't require significant footage to be taken, multiple game playthroughs to be done and research beyond current events. (A lot of it was stuff I had already compiled personally).
The sole exception was the frontiers video but this was as a result of me having been working on it in the background while the few videos before it released, which speaking of if you want an idea of what the next video will entail structure wise it will be most similar to this one, though completely unrelated to blue hedgehogs.
I will also be out of the country in July like last year so this will impact things, though I will be working then, just obviously to a lesser degree due to other responsibilities. Regardless I hope you look forward to it, I've been wanting to make this thing for a while.
Tomorrow there will be a new video released, so here is the final reminder for anyone who missed it to check out my video on the localization company Discotek, I go over both the situation that resulted from working with JelloApocalypse and the company history to demonstrate that this is not an outlier in their catalog or the industry at large.
The upcoming project follows a similar pattern to the last few videos but its contents are more inward than usual...which might sound confusing but I'm sure it'll make sense when you see it! I feel it's very important to a lot of the things I talk/care about.
Regarding the future, the time between tomorrow's video and the following might be on the longer side (comparatively) as I'll be out of the country for about a month , limiting my ability to work on videos and this video is looking to be very long on its own but I will be doing what I can at that time still. However, I've been looking forward to making it and the project is more in line with something like the Nier video. From talking to people on streams I know many of you are a fan of the subject matter so I hope you enjoy it when the time finally comes!
At the end of the week I'll be releasing a new video, so here's a final reminder for anyone who missed it to check out my last one on A.I translation as well as taking a deeper look into the historical history of localization for the past few decades.
As for the coming project, it's on a situation that seemed to have gotten swept under the rug, partially due to this month being very eventful but also partially to a lot of people not doing their due diligence in the situation so it should be an interesting one. Please look forward to it!
I will also be streaming on the 15th for those interested as it's the next day of the closed beta for SAO.
There will be a new video at the start of next week so just a final reminder for anyone who missed it, last month, I uploaded a review for Sonic Frontiers! It was my longest project to date and I'm quite proud of it.
As for the coming project is taking advantage of current events, but like I always like to do with these sorts of topics the scope will be much larger, as I don't want these videos to have a limit on their relevancy, I hope you find it both informative and entertaining, as I've been preparing for this project for a bit and just needed the right event to build it around. See ya soon!
Just a reminder for anyone who missed it, last month, I released a new video on "The Bridget Retcon" While it wasn't a project I thought would be very fun, I actually ended up translating a lot of old interviews, articles even entire games! (if you count Pachinko machines)
This made it a more valuable experience for me personally and for obvious reasons really helped elevate the video as well as add to the situation at large as some of that had never been translated until now.
So please check it out if you haven't! For what's next, there will be a new short uploaded tomorrow sort of in a similar vein to the last one but with a positive outcome instead of a negative. Further, the next full video is currently being worked on but expect it to be closer to the Nier or Sonic videos than something like the last two.
As some of you may know, I've had a pretty grueling last two months, mostly spent in hospitals. Initially, a family member had a stroke, and then another had a cancer scare, which ultimately made me decide to spend time at home to take care of things both during and after.
Then, when things seemed to be calming down, my cat got sick, and I was briefly bed written following a personal issue. While this might sound like a depressing string of events, that's not really what I want to be taken away here. Everyone, myself included are back on their feet (or paws), and while things are not perfectly as they were its about as good as could be hoped for given the specifics. I've also gotten good school related news during all of this, so it hasn't been all bad.
So that said, I wanted to give a long-awaited thank you for the support of my last video with how quickly it had reached 100k as well as my Sonic video just approaching 40k. I don't really go into these with expectations beyond a project being "what I want to talk about," so it's always a nice surprise when they land with people. However, on that topic..
The next one will be coming later than anticipated for reasons you can probably assume. I've been prepping this next video for a long while so writing it throughout all this going on was thankfully far more doable then a fresh project but I haven't been able to bring it past that due other things taking priority and often not being anywhere near a computer I could work on.
Now that I'm resituated everything should be back on track though and I hope you look forward to it, it'll be the last of these videos that are "topical" in the vein of my Localization video for awhile, I think. Though you never know with me, I guess there will be a decent amount of streams between now and then, so feel free to stop by. If that's not your thing, though, I appreciate your patience. Thanks again !
Just a reminder for anyone who missed it, last week I released a new video on "The Global Standard." I've been working on this one for quite awhile so seeing the reception to it has been really nice!
I've already begun progressing on the next video but it'll probably be a while before it bears fruit, as I'll be out of the country for a bit but even then I'll be doing my best to get work done, there might be an in-betweener that comes out before then however. So I hope you look forward to it, thanks again or the support and you can always stop be a stream on wed/sat if you'd like to give more direct feedback on videos!
Hey just letting you guys know I released my first Short on the Fire Emblem Engage Censorship a few days ago, I wouldn't expect them often but I think they'll be a nice way to talk about things I can't fit into these more extensive 40+ min videos I've been doing.
If you recall when I first started making youtube videos I used to release way more but I often found I ended up repeating/coming back to information often and as time went on I just wasn't happy with them because I could have gone more in-depth. I think shorts are a decent middle ground since I both won't feel bad when I use the content for a bigger project later and it'll let me cover something or just go over something cool without taking too much time away from the main project.
So, yeah, check out if you haven't! The new full video should be out soon, run time keeps creeping over expectations will probably be the second longest video on this channel with it over an hour now...
A NEW MAINLINE VIDEO will be coming out in about two weeks. Kururu is almost finished with the art and the video itself is looking to be about 40-50 min so it's gonna be a big one. Won't spoil the specifics but hope you look forward to it !
