I was planning on making a console game that would be on PlayStation first, then Nintendo and Xbox later, but it might just be PlayStation exclusive because I can’t bring myself to work with and support Xbox (Microsoft) or Nintendo, two of the most greedy corporations ever.
If I ever release music, I’d would be an Apple Music Exclusive. I would eventually ad it to Spotify, but around a week or two later. I just can’t support Spotify.
Im sure you've been keeping up with the news lately regarding YouTube's new AI "age-guessing" model they're implementing on August 13th here in the US.
This system uses your watch history, average time spent watching per day, and the longevity of your Google account (how long you've had the account) to determine how old it thinks you are.
This system is supposed to be for "protecting the kids" which I am all for. But, the way they're implementing it makes me worried for everyone's privacy. You see, if you are marked as under 18, but you are actually over 18, you have to either show your government-issued ID, take a selfie, or make a two-minute verification video. Not the best way of getting around to it.
Like all AI systems, this system will have many flaws associated with it that I am already expecting. Like falsely marking adults as children or teens. (Keep in mind, this system completely ignores your Google account age.)
Let's put this into a quick little scenario, okay? Let's say that Jeremy, a 46-year-old man wants some quick nostalgia by watching clips of his favorite Saturday Morning Cartoons from his youth. Here's where the questions arise. Since these are cartoons aimed at kids, will the AI see Jeremy watching this and mark him as a young teen because of these videos, and force him to verify his age as being over 18?
This system seems more burdensome than it will be helpful. Since I am under 18, I am already affected by age-restrictions on certain videos that I liked to watch before they were restricted. I am either going to slip under this system's radar as an adult, or be trapped for two whole years, waiting for the opportunity to have unrestricted access again. Well, there will still be the restrictions that come with this system, like maybe frequent checks if I am under/over 18 with government ID.
I wanted to warn you guys, my little tiny corner on the internet, about the dangers this system brings to your privacy.
You are either going to be shelling your government-issued ID/DL to Google, a massive corporation that could hypothetically share the information on it with third-party services to use for some shady things, or your face to them. Your ID/DL is something very personal and the vast majority of people are very reluctant to share that ID/DL online to someone they don't know. Rightfully so. I wouldn't give my personal identification to a corporation that could potentially share it with third-parties and make money off it. They say that they'll delete any record of this ID/DL or face scan off their systems after the verification is done, but who's to say that they won't?
I'm not sure if this will affect people that aren't signed in to a Google account or not, but be careful guys and remember:
All large future projects will no longer be developed for this channel. Instead, there is a branding change and a new channel. This will still remain as my main channel/brand for the time being.
