Hey friends, As you know, the fires in Los Angeles have affected some of our nearest & dearest, including our recent tour mates / bffs @usic & their families… we’ve been focusing all our energies toward helping their communities & being supportive in any ways we can. Sorry for our silence on social media, we’ve been very present in the 3D World and will have some news soon on benefit shows / ways we can all help lift up our hurting brothers & sisters. It’s heartbreaking & near impossible to think about what the people of Altadena, Pasadena, The Palisades, and other affected communities are having to navigate through right now. Sometimes there’s this misconception from the outside that Los Angeles is all wealthy, able to bounce back from something like this with the flick of a switch. But the Los Angeles I know the most intimately, is the creative community that lives largely paycheck to paycheck, putting everything into their art to make our days move easier, our struggles more digestible and soundtrack the best & worst of our hours. The Los Angeles that people don’t see on the highlight reel, are the Black families who lost their generational homes in Altadena. It was one of the few areas in LA in the 1960’s that was exempt from redlining, making it possible to own property and plant roots. Their road back to normal is uncertain & terrifying. I feel so helpless. I appreciate so much y'all sending us the resources you’re finding, helping to spread the stories from folks who don’t have a loud voice in the crowd…you remind us that there’s so much more good in the world than there is evil. We’ll be back soon with more to say but for now, thank you for caring so much. Thank you for making our friends and community members feel less alone. 🧡

Taylor and Griff from @Dawesmusic are two of my best friends in the world and they’ve been my favorite band on earth for 10+ years. Getting to live out my dream over here singing When My Time Comes + This Is Life with ‘em night after night has been a total trip and I’m so stupidly grateful. Thanks to all our new friends we met on this run and thanks to the boys for being so kind to us and buying us lobster rolls. We’ll continue this jaunt in Texas in a few weeks..maybe even with a surprise guest?
