I've been making progress writing the script for my next theory video!
However, it'll still take me a while to record and edit, so I'm likely going to post a Gartic Phone video soon (which I'm almost done editing) to keep y'all fed until then

I'm now fully convinced the Deltarune fandom is wrong about "ERAM".
I think FRIEND is the Shadow Mantle Holder that speaks to us throughout the Sword Route. All of the Mantle Boss's unique traits are either related to Seam (black and orange color scheme, similar smile) or Kris (Eyes flickering like flames, "burning eyes". The mantle doesn't have eyes, so the song is talking about Kris.)
The game makes a point to differentiate them by saying "The Shadow Mantle that I'm HOLDING". Not wearing. Holding.
It being DEVICE_FRIEND also explains how the OddController (which is Pink and Yellow by the way) is able to connect the SOUL to the game, similar to how our SOUL is connected to Deltarune at the start of Chapter 1.
Friend has already spoken to us directly and we didn't even realize.
EXCEPT I DID. THROW YOUR TOMATOES AT ME, I'LL EAT THEM!!!! RAAHHH!!!
Anyway, criticism is welcome, I'll address any good arguments in the video when i finish it.
