Welcome and thanks for visiting my channel!

I am a huge fan of adventure games and enjoy making videos. That's why I decided to start making video walkthroughs. My goal is to promote the genre and play all types of adventure games (old, new, horror, indie...) If you have any questions or request, please don't hesitate to contact me. Feel free to use any of my videos to create your own review, top 10 list etc. as long as you don't just re-upload my walkthroughs.

Currently uploading:

The Book of Unwritten Tales 2
Born Punk

Hey all, as you might have seen, a new Nancy Drew game came out yesterday. The bad news is that my gaming PC is on another continent. I am currently doing a postdoc abroad and won't be back home for at least a year. The game ran smoothly on the machine I have here with me, so I tried to record and upload the first part before going to bed last nigh. This morning I realized that the quality of the video was awful, so I took it down. I will try to find a game recorder that works better on that machine and give it another try. I know that a lot of people started following my channel because of my Nancy Drew walkthroughs and I was really hoping to start uploading it on its release day.

Hey all, it's me again. A few months have passed since I posted that announcement about planning to slowly stop recording and uploading videos. It was so touching to receive so many supportive messages and they inspired me to record quite a few walkthroughs that I will upload in the upcoming months. I had more time to think about why I wanted to quit in the first place and remember why I initially started uploading these videos. I am generally a type of person who likes to either do something well or not do it at all and, for a variety of reasons, I felt like I could no longer put the needed time and effort into the channel. In a large part thanks to these wonderful messages, I realized that instead of just quitting, I needed to change my mindset and stop putting pressure on myself. So, my plan for this year is to just try to have more fun and only record when I feel inspired to do so and take a break when I start feeling burnt out.

Another reason why I felt like quitting was because I was (and still am) going through some personal struggles that made everything less enjoyable. The last couple of years have been difficult for many of us for one reason or another. In 2020 I started suffering from health anxiety, utterly convinced that I was dying from many different terminal diseases. While I managed to keep working (that would sometimes even help me and keep me preoccupied), I stopped doing many things that I had previously loved, most notably going to the gym and playing video games for fun. While I am still dealing with these thoughts occasionally and have some bad days, I'm trying to turn things around. So in the last couple of months I've prioritized playing games with my friends over playing games that I plan to record. I still waste a lot of my time and energy worrying about my health, but things are slowly getting better. I hope to keep getting better and go back to what I used to enjoy doing.

Thanks again for your support and if you too are going trough something, stay strong and keep fighting!

So all good things come to an end and lately I've been feeling like the joy of running this channel is gone. Things have changed so much since I recorded my first walkthrough, around 13 years ago now. In a way, it all started and ended with Monkey Island. I've been thinking about this for a while now, but wanted to see how uploading Return to Monkey Island would go. I remember how exciting it was to upload MI 2 special edition when it came out. This time, however, thinking about recording right after work made me quite stressed and it does not seem like many people are looking forward to the upcoming parts. Even lost a couple of subs. That just confirmed that it's time for me to move on.

I will upload a few more games, complete the Nancy Drew series, record some of my favorite games of all time I have not uploaded yet and rerecord a few of my really old walkthroughs that have a part missing or are of dreadful quality. Let me know if there are some games you'd really want to see, and I'll think about adding them to the list. So in sports terms, I am announcing that I will retire at the end of the season. Maybe I will feel like recording again after a long break or will feel like trying to do something different, like live stream or make reviews. Who knows...

I'd like to thank everyone who has supported the channel throughout the years - thanks for the positive comments that inspired me, for recommending various games (and even though I couldn't record all of them, I bought many of them and will hopefully get around to playing them one day), for choosing to watch my videos over other gameplays of the same games, for just casually chatting with me in the comments section. I am also so grateful to have met other content creators through this channel, to have collaborated with them and to be able to call some of them my friends now.

So that's the gist of it. Deeper reasons are that I just feel burnt out and that YouTube has changed so much. When I created this channel, I was still a student and would play and record these games when my workload was light. In the last couple of years, back when I was doing my PhD and now that I work as a software developer, I haven't had that much free time and would end up rushing through games in order to be able to record, edit and upload them as well and it all became a chore. I have also noticed that the games I enjoy playing the most often get received poorly and it's getting harder to ignore the generational gap between me, a 90s kid, and people who watch gaming videos these days. There are also many other channels now that upload adventure games with no commentary, but more regularly and swiftly than me. I remember how exciting it was when people asked me to record a new game and how awesome it was to see that they were happy to see that it was up. Back in the early days of YT, us content creators used to reach out to one another, offer support, propose collaborations etc. Now it's just about competing with the others. While I am sad that things have changed, I am so grateful to have had all of these experiences. Thank you all once again and sorry for the long post! I should've made a video :)

Hey all, you might have noticed that I haven't uploaded in a while. I actually haven't played anything since February or March, just had a bunch of pre-recorded videos. Wanted to thank everyone for still supporting the channel despite that. I am so honored and thankful that we reached 20K subs recently!
The reason why I've been inactive is that I've been working 50-60 effective hours a week since late February. I'm a software developer currently looking to work on smaller projects and join startups instead of having a steady job and this year I had several opportunities I wanted to explore. I am starting to really miss gaming and being more active on YT (I feel bad for not reading and replying to comments as often as I used to and miss the interactions). Don't expect my workload to significantly decrease until the end of the year, but will try to squeeze in some recording sessions, especially because I am looking forward to playing some games scheduled to be released this fall.

Hey all, I recently posted a video showcasing Nevertales: The Abomination. I was given a couple of android keys by the developers and have one left. Send me an email to adventuregamefan8@gmail.com if you are interested in receiving the key. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IDx8...

Edit: I did not get any emails or notifications, but when I checked my channel status again, there were no copyright strikes. I hope that that means that sending the email worked. If you are a content creator and get a copyright strike from 3antS Development & Strategies SL try contacting them.
I will keep checking just to be sure that it's gone. Phew :) I will not re-upload that walkthrough to this channel. There must be something about it that looked suspicious and I don't want to take any chances. It's not even a good game anyway.

Just got a copyright strike I am sure is fake, but not sure if I should fight it since gameplay videos have always been a grey area and I don't want to get into bigger trouble. The video that got flagged is part 1 of my Black Mirror 2017 walkthrough. The strike is not from either the developer or the publisher of that game and it seems that others got strikes on their videos (with no copyrighted content) by the same claimant. If I get two more such strikes by November 5th, my channel will be taken down. I will remove that walkthrough and re-upload it to my backup channel (as well as some other walkthroughs I removed in the last couple of years) just to be on the safe side. I think that I'll also set up something like twitter so that I can post updates there if my channel gets taken down. I hope that they won't claim more of my videos and that that strike will disappear in 3 months, but this is scary.

Edit: seems like some creators who also got strikes emailed the company and they removed them. The video was probably flagged by a bot and not a person. I just sent an email to their support team in hope that I will at least get some answers.
