Voice of the Martyrs is a Canadian non-profit charitable organization dedicated to supporting, loving and encouraging persecuted Christians worldwide.
We help Christians who are, or have been, persecuted for their involvement in spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We provide medical assistance, food, clothing and other forms of aid.
We encourage persecuted Christians by giving their testimonies a voice and informing Christians in Canada to know how to help. We believe that the lives and the testimonies of persecuted Christians are a vital part of the fellowship of all believers and will challenge and strengthen the faith of Christians everywhere.

On September 15th, a baptismal ceremony in Takoubatt, a village located within the Tillabéri region of Niger, was violently disrupted when gunmen on motorcycles suddenly stormed the gathering. According to a local source, 15 people were killed during that initial attack. The assailants then moved to the outskirts of the village, where they claimed the lives of seven more villagers. One local media outlet described the incident as a "gruesome death toll of 22 innocent people [who were] cowardly killed without reason or justification."
The Tillabéri region, which borders Mali and Burkina Faso, has been plagued by persistent attacks from jihadist groups linked to the al-Qaeda and self-proclaimed Islamic State militant organizations. Despite ongoing efforts to curb the violence, the military has struggled to maintain control over the area. A recent report from Human Rights Watch highlighted the various difficulties encountered by authorities in their attempts to protect the region's civilians.

The Voice of the Martyrs Canada
The work assigned by God to Voice of the Martyrs Canada (VOMC) involves facilitating a vast number of International Ministry projects through which greatly needed spiritual encouragement and practical support are provided to the suffering members of His persecuted church. At times, this requires coming alongside impoverished Christians – such as the widows of martyred pastors and their children – by providing basic necessities for their survival. At other times, it entails advocating for imprisoned missionaries and evangelists.
The ministry also serves the wider Christian community by rebuilding destroyed churches and training young Bible college students to become future spiritual leaders. Although VOMC is not necessarily a missionary-sending agency, it is dedicated to providing persecuted Christians essential resources and practical assistance so they can carry out the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus. This commitment to His Commission is, therefore, one of the ministry’s foundational values.

Through the grace of the Living Lord, our ministry team was recently able to complete the extensive renovation work that had begun on the house of a resident belonging to the Christian community in Jaranwala, Pakistan. This home was one of many that were destroyed during the devastating riots on August 16th, 2023, when false accusations of blasphemy unleashed a wave of violence upon local Christians.
Rizwan David works as a rickshaw driver, and his wife runs a small tuck shop near their home to help support the family. When our ministry workers visited their home – 15 months after the attack – the house was still without a roof and had fallen into a severe state of disrepair. Through fervent prayer and the Lord’s divine provision, a way was made for our ministry team to help restore the family’s home and provide them with a safe and secure place in which to live. When the renovations began, our ministry team faced several challenges. In addition to sweltering high temperatures, the team had to complete the extensive repairs while the family was living within the vicinity. The rebuilding process also required managing the tasks of various skilled labourers, ensuring the building materials had arrived on time, and travelling long distances each day to oversee the construction. Despite these challenges, it was an immense joy to witness the fulfillment of the restoration.
Praise be to God that all the essential construction work was completed successfully – including the installation of a new roof, fresh paint, and vital electrical and plumbing systems. The family is happy and deeply grateful to God, as well as their Christian brothers and sisters whose love and support have helped them to rebuild not just a house, but hope itself.

Ten years. That's how long a Christian family witnessed to a Pakistani Muslim name Huzaifa before he came to Christ.
A young Christian woman working in his shop answered his questions about her faith and invited him to church. He then met the rest of her family and began attending church.
For two years he studied the Bible. And then, ten years after Christians began sharing with him, Huzaifa placed his trust in Christ.
Lord, I'm grateful my persecuted Christian family didn't tire of sharing with Huzaifa. May I have their patience as I share You with others. Amen.

ETHIOPIA: Attacked Church Seeks New Meeting Location
On July 29th, a small congregation in Ethiopia was attacked by hostile community members who were opposed to the church's presence in their village. During the incident, the attackers dismantled the simple shelter where the Christians had been meeting, and then they proceeded to steal its structural materials. Since the attack, the church's pastor and his wife have been seeking a new meeting place for their congregation. However, they continue to face strong opposition from the local community. This ministering couple had initially arranged to lease a venue, but the owner later withdrew from the agreement due to pressure from militant Muslim activists. Despite the setbacks, these faithful church leaders remain committed to finding a suitable new location where they can continue meeting with local converts who have become part of their congregation.

Two brothers present an offering to the Lord. One is a “keeper of sheep,” the other a “worker of the ground.” One of the offerings is acceptable to God; the other is not. This results in one brother rising up against the other and killing him. Within the initial four chapters of the Bible, we witness the first act of martyrdom (or religion persecution): Cain killing Abel (Genesis 4:2-8).
