A Skeptical Human

I have started a 2nd YouTube channel where I post shorter clips of all my long-form content. Subscribe to it here! → www.youtube.com/channel/UC-go...

The gameplan is basically: Post full long-form videos exclusively here on this channel (whether my debunking videos, full debates, whatever it may be), and post exclusively shorter clips & YouTube Shorts of this longer content on this 2nd channel.

Not gonna get into the detailed thinking behind this 2 channel approach, but for a lot of reasons, it's just cleaner and makes more sense to do it this way. Full long-form videos here on this main channel, shorter clips + YouTube Shorts on the 2nd channel. That's the gameplan for now! Thanks.

Ben Shapiro Debunked on Gun Control! - Debate & Interview Rebuttal [FULL]

Watch the full long-form video here: https://youtu.be/JP-bioGqweM

Ben Shapiro is wrong about gun control. This full, long-form video evaluates and debunks many flawed arguments that he makes on this subject. These are arguments you'll hear him make in debates, in interviews, in viral videos, and in episodes of The Daily Wire.

Shapiro claims that the core purpose of the 2nd Amendment is to protect against "government tyranny." Republicans are living in fantasy-land when they make this argument, because the weapons available to everyday Americans would be no match for our heavily equipped military. Also, who's to say what "government tyranny" is? What criteria do we use?

Doesn't this open the door to armed resistance against any governmental policy deemed "tyrannical"—no matter how trivial or ridiculous the policy? What moral grounds would Republicans like Shapiro have to oppose such actions—given that these people would be using the exact same logic as him? His logic, when accepted by people further to the right of him, can actually be quite dangerous.

Ben Shapiro also sometimes makes ridiculous strawman arguments on this subject, sometimes sprinkling in a few terrible analogies while he's at it. Not only that, but when pressed on specific gun control proposals, Shapiro is actually quite supportive of many of these—raising the question: "Why not work together to reduce gun violence, if we share these goals and agree on these policies, vs trying to 'own the libs' on this subject?"

Shapiro will sometimes use misleading statistics, facts, and graphs to make his case on this subject. One example is using certain poorly-chosen metrics to make it appear like gun ownership doesn't correlate with increased gun violence. The fact of the matter is, when you use the appropriate measurements, and look at the data as a whole, it becomes very clear that gun control works to reduce gun violence. A cost-benefit analysis supports the conclusion that stricter gun control laws would help to save lives.

Steven Crowder: Debunked on transgenderism! - https://youtu.be/fI3zISifq4M

In my latest long-form video, I argue that Steven Crowder is wrong about transgenderism. He makes a variety of silly arguments on the subject that revolve around transgender bathroom laws. He also tries to "own the libs" on this subject by crossdressing, apparently thinking that dressing as a woman somehow proves some kind of point. Here in my full video, I evaluate and debunk several of his arguments on this subject, providing facts, data, and scientific research to back up my points and rebuttals.

Topics covered include the "locker room" argument, the "bathroom" argument, as well as transgender biology and psychology—plus the classic "facts versus feelings" framing that Republicans like Steven Crowder and Ben Shapiro like to put on this subject. I examine his Louder With Crowder debate against a transgender mayor on the subject, and talk about the absurdity of trying to enforce these right-wing viewpoints on this subject.

The case I make is that: Equal rights for transgenderism, and accepting the validity of their internal experience, is the way to go. The medical and psychological community accepts transgenderism as a valid, healthy mental state for these individuals—despite the false conservative claim that transgenderism is a "mental illness" or indicative of "delusions." Supporting the Republican policies in this area would actually have the reverse effect of what they intend. All of that, plus a healthy dose of occasionally funny jokes and humor sprinkled in throughout the video. Enjoy!—and don't forget to share the video if you liked it.

"Ben Shapiro Is Wrong on Transgenderism - Bad Arguments Debunked!"

My latest long-form video refutes a lot of common anti-transgender arguments made by Republicans like Ben Shapiro or Steven Crowder: https://youtu.be/0-VzF3L_Q4U

These include the false claim that transgender individuals are suffering from so-called "delusions" & "mental illness." These also include arguments about transgender biology & psychology that do not stand up to the facts and are rejected by the leading expert organizations in these fields.

Check the video out if that sounds of interest to you! It will also be posted clipped up over the upcoming days if there are any particular segments of special interest to you or that you'd like to specifically share with others.

Thanks, and enjoy!

That awkward moment when a Republican accidentally makes my case for me 🤣

Thank you for proving my point that guns are much more deadly than knives are—and that gun control would thus save lives even if all criminals did "switch to knives"!

I'm looking to do #debates. Please tag any content creators who you think would be a good debating opponent as an open invitation to them/also to make me aware of them so I can reach out. Channel/platform size is mostly irrelevant. They can be #Republicans, #libertarians, #conspiracytheorists, #Christians -- anyone I disagree with basically who would make for a good debating opponent.

Thanks!

A Skeptical Human

Hello everybody,

I have decided to retire from making YouTube videos & writing.

I hope you've found my content to be interesting, educational, and entertaining, and thanks to everyone who's been a subscriber, fan, and supporter on Patreon! Thanks also to the people who have had podcast conversations with me (including Johnny, TheLoneChemist; Mick West; and others), and also a big thanks to the people that have jumped in the ring with me and debated (including Philosopossum).

My existing content will remain here on my channel (and on my website as well) for those who want to revisit it or reference it in the future, but I have decided it's best for me to focus my time and energies elsewhere in life.

Thanks everyone!
