If you watch my stream from yesterday, you'll see how I go over how YouTube interprets "building sufficient channel history" for accounts on the platform with respect to the newly implemented AI age verification.
According to YouTube's own email correspondence, "building sufficient channel history" can take around two years. So I don't believe changing your video viewing habits (i.e. watching more mature content) over the last 2-3 weeks will outweigh your last 2 years of channel history, whether you have a new or old account. Whether people will stay around long enough to build two years of channel history for this new system has yet to be seen.
In my opinion, the "engaged viewer" and "profanity policy" changes were introduced as a means to prevent users from gaming this system before its complete rollout. Nothing is given without advantage to the giver.

This isn't just a rant about YouTube's decisions, but the practice of ID verification as a whole on a near global scale.

Have you had issues with the YouTube app where you can't comment on Shorts because the text input box is missing?
For whatever reason, it is placed behind your phone's navigation bar. If you go to "Display > Navigation bar" in your Android settings (or your device's equivalent) and change the Navigation type from "Navigation buttons" to "Full screen gestures", the navigation bar will become transparent and you'll see that the YT Shorts comment bar is right where the navigation bar is.
There are a number of problems with this. No offense to anyone using Full screen gestures, but I prefer a button-based navigation bar that responds with a simple tap input within its own dedicated area on the screen. This is especially true on an app like YouTube that constantly pushes ads out of nowhere that respond to even the slightest misclick, more so than the actual videos posted by legitimate channels. You shouldn't need to disable your button-based navigation bar, or ANY phone settings, just to access a feature as fundamental as posting a comment.

You are what you eat.
In all seriousness, the next few days are going to be ridiculously hot. So make sure you, your friends, family, and pets are staying cool and hydrated. Drink plenty of water, stay in the shade, maybe treat yourself to a frozen dessert.
While watermelon and cantaloupe are good choices, I prefer a blend of raspberries, blackberries, and a variety of cherries. Not only is it refreshing one bite at a time, but it's a sizeable snack to keep me going when I'm streaming for you all on a hot summer day.
Now more than ever, be sure to get something to eat and drink. Do what you have to do to beat the heat, and I hope to see you again soon!
