Hello You Origami Seeking Risk-Taker, thank you for dropping in, you are in search of true and unusual travel tips and this is the right channel.

Everything I am talking about you can find somewhere else but you get my take on it and quirky itineraries from a loving Japanese / German mind with a a fascination for hot baths. Once in a while we do explore Eurasia and the Land of the free.

I lived in Aotearoa, the Lion City, the City of Gold and currently in the land of the rising sun.

Cheers
Martina

I'm traveling from Niigata to Tokyo on the Shinkansen this morning. This was posted at the station entrance:

Due to bear sightings, please keep the doors closed.

I believe this is an approved Graffiti, I might be wrong, but this doesn't mean Graffiti is allowed in Shibuya, it is just the style of this shop.

NHK reported: Repeated cases of graffiti at Kyoto's popular Arashiyama Bamboo Grove have forced city authorities to cut down some stalks.
Please don't do it, in Japan Graffiti is not seen as art like eg in Germany, schools do not conduct Graffiti classes, it is seen as vandalism. Secondly, carving anything on Bamboo means this Bamboo has to be cut down, if you pay for your plastic bag (which is such a psychological idiotic thing to ask us to do since everything is packed plastic) do not start in a foreign country carving your initials in a Bamboo stalk or spray a wall. I have a photo from Harajuku with Graffiti but I will post from Vienna and London as well, because it is just ugly and considered vandalism. The last photo is from White Chapel and I will never ever go there again. It was dirty and scary.

I like to add, that in Shibuya there is controlled Graffiti, meaning the owner of a shop decided to do Gaffiti.

Snow Sport in Echigo Yuzawa, so much snow, just lovely. Every year we invite friends to come along. Hana stays at the Compa Inn this year! Food as always is so delicious. Ryokan Yuzawa Yuzawa Denkiya www.yuzawa-yuzawa.com/eng/

Bratislava yesterday on a cold day, the castle, the historic city and the famous "Slovak National Uprising bridge" in mist with its characteristic object in the form of a flying saucer on its top, built between 1967-1972
If you arrive at the train station, don’t buy the €20 something day ticket, outside the station they have ticket machines. Tickets are according to zones and the ticket is much cheaper.

My origami seeking risk takers, I am in Budapest, Hungary and it’s chilly, it’s a gorgeous place with glittery Christmas markets, beautiful people, historic building, delicious food and a bathing culture, maybe not as extensive as Japan but we are exited, love from Europe

The other day I went with my friends to this tiny Kazakhstan restaurant in Takadanobaba, Tokyo “Samarkand” - it was a refreshing taste and it was delicious
