Hey neighbor. I'm afraid 2025 hasn't gone to plan in any way whatsoever, at least so far... I could give you a hundred "reasons" why I haven't been posting much at all, but I'll try to boil it down to a few headlines.
🔘 My parents are both having major health issues/declines, and I'm an only child. You can do the math, sadly. Being a caretaker is tough, and I didn't expect this to happen to so soon for either of them. 🔘 The world being so on fire makes me want to stick my head in the sand. It's genuinely awful and terrifying if I think about it for more than 10 seconds, I just wanna hide offline all over again, which is kinda what I've been doing because it's only gonna keep getting worse as greed ruins our planet. 🔘 I no longer feel unique in making content as career; it's like all anyone ever wants to do or talk about and it's become a mental roadblock for me. It's sad. Do I really have anything to add to the discourse? (I do, but, ya know, brainrot, content addiction, & rage bait is so prevalent it makes me frustrated) 🔘 Nothing feels real anymore and I kinda feel like I'm floating through existence while reckless billionaires gamble our futures away. Content feels so unimportant, even though I know I'm not the problem, I still have a hard time pulling myself together to film. I've shot the beginnings of so many videos, ones I ultimately walk away from which has become a bad habit bc I don't deem it "important" enough to even finish shooting, let alone post. 🔘 Not to whine about my own woes, but it's been a really tough year for my family with illness and trauma. I'm in constant physical pain on top of that due to years of neglected back, neck, & shoulder pain and it's getting really old just existing like this tbh...
I dunno, I can feel myself drifting towards social isolation from the online world, and as great as that can feel, I also don't love feeling so out of touch with the zeitgeist. But also the zeitgeist sucks, so who can blame anyone for avoiding it?
That's where my head is at, I should post publicly more instead of holding these thoughts in. It's not like I want my audience to beg me to come back full force with consistent videos, but I also can't seem to find the sense of purpose I need, the spark, to drive me back into the trenches. I know, burned out YouTuber has a moral dilemma over content, heh, not what you signed up for, but thanks for hearing me out.
