YOKELUST
YOKELUST is the artist name for the man, the mystery - Yiannis Nikodellis.
Yiannis has been djing and producing in Canberra for most part of the last 10 years - bumping self produced remixes of classic queer/pop anthems during his sets while also crafting together a sound for his own music. Early inspirations included bands like Death From Above 1979 all the way to MUSE - punk mixed with electronics was ear candy - but that swiftly progressed to the more intricate and complex electronic music - the likes of Björk, Radiohead and Frank Ocean.
The energy experienced while djing sort of took over and YOKELUST began working towards more dance-floor friendly bangers with the release of 'Feel The Lust' in late 2020, through queer Melbourne label Body Positive Music. Disco and the heat of the 80s and 90s house has really taken hold of where the music is heading for the next project. YES I LOVE YOU and TAKE A DIP - are the first tasters of the new album 'UNABASHED' coming early 2023.
