One thing I’ve noticed in my cooking journey is how much my plating style has changed since I started. Early on, I used a lot of colourful plates to make the food pop and often avoided white plates because I couldn’t get the visual finish I wanted.
But for a while now, I almost always reach for simple, clean white plates and rarely ever go back to coloured ones.
What’s more interesting is that now I look for different kinds of white plates, each unique, with their effect on how the dish looks, but still always white.
Seeing this evolution makes me wonder, maybe as you grow and gain confidence in your cooking, you naturally lean more and more towards simplicity.
Like, at some point, the food doesn’t need help standing out. It just does.
