I FINALLY FINISHED KIVULI'S LORE

Kivuli, whose name means shadow, is the lost son of Simba and Nala. As a newborn, he was stolen during an ambush on Pride Rock by Scar’s remaining followers. Though abandoned, he was carried far from the Pride Lands and eventually found refuge at the Tree of Life, where he grew up among the Night Pride—never knowing his true bloodline. Unlike the other lions there, Kivuli’s tan coat and developing mane of both brown and red made him stand out. His piercing blue eyes and the mysterious stripes trailing down his legs marked him as unique, but also as an outsider.

When Kion and the Lion Guard arrived at the Tree of Life, Kivuli felt an undeniable connection to them—especially when Simba’s scent on the Guard stirred something deep inside him. It was eventually revealed that he was Simba’s lost son, a revelation that shook both prides. But Kivuli’s sense of abandonment and bitterness outweighed any joy at the truth. Where Kiara embraced her future with compassion, Kivuli grew restless, consumed by the belief that kindness was weakness.

This made him the perfect target for Zira and the lingering spirit of Scar. Through manipulation and lies, they convinced Kivuli that Simba had abandoned him, that Scar was the true king, and that he himself was destined to succeed him as the King. Kivuli awakened a dark power opposite Kion’s Roar of the Elders: the Roar of Desolation, a roar that feeds on anger, despair, and hatred. The more pain he carried, the stronger it grew.

Under Scar’s whispers and Zira’s obsessive control, Kivuli embraced his role as King. Though manipulated, Kivuli came to believe this was his destiny: to end Simba’s line and replace it with his own. Scar’s ghost saw him as the ultimate weapon, while Zira saw him as king.

Kivuli’s story is one of tragedy—a lion torn between the family he never knew, the Night Pride who raised him, and the dark voices that promised him power, legacy, and belonging.
