Quick! There is less than 24 hours to submit your vote for either the crab, armadillo, or penguin as part of this years Minecraft Live mob vote. Voting ends on October 15, 2023 at 15:15 UTC. You can vote within the Minecraft launcher, at minecraft.net, or from a special Bedrock server that you can join in-game. Last year there was over 3.5 million total votes and the Sniffer (winner) received almost 2 million votes (55.1% of total votes).

Which mob will you vote for? Think about which mob you think would be the most fun and interesting addition to Minecraft, and cast your vote now!

✅ Crab
The crab makes its home in the mangrove swamp and has one enormous claw! It doesn't just use it for waving at players (hello!) - this giant claw is actually very special. If a player manages to find one, they can use it to place blocks further away when building.

✅ Armadillo
The armadillo lives in the savannah biome. If you startle the armadillo, it will curl up into a blocky ball! The armadillo also drops a scute that you can use to craft a new type of armor, wolf armor! Which will give your pet wolf some extra protection.

✅ Penguin
The penguin is a social mob, and you'll find it waddling around the stony shores biome. A little clumsy on land, the penguin is a strong swimmer when it's in the water. It's helpful too, because this amphibious mob can help your boat travel faster!

Wishing everyone a fun, safe, and healthy festive season as we wrap up 2022. I'm taking a couple of weeks off to catch-up with family and rest up ahead of starting another year. Hopefully the unchartered waters ahead can bring us all joy and adventure. Videos will return in early January '23.

Based on what we currently know, which mob has your vote in the upcoming Minecraft Live community vote? The Sniffer (a dinosaur), the Rascal (humanoid lost miner), or the Tuff Golem (brother of the Copper Golem)?

#MinecraftLive will feature a mob vote like in previous years. Each mob is unique which should make the voting very interesting!

:: The Glare ::
A flying mob that dislikes darkness. It seeks out areas dark enough for hostile mob spawning, goes there and alerts the player.

:: The Allay ::
A flying mob that likes music. A player can give it any item, then it seeks similar items in the area and brings it back. It keeps the item originally given by the player until the player takes it away. The Allay does not break blocks, open containers, steal from other players, or duplicate items.

:: The Copper Golem ::
A walking mob that likes to press copper buttons (a new item added to the game). It is player craftable, it oxidizes over time, and when fully-oxidized the golem becomes a statue. A lightning rod is on the golem's head, and a lightning strike will de-oxidize the golem.

The Minecraft Caves & Cliffs update is now split into two separate releases. What do you think of the decision?

Minecraft 1.17, planned for release mid 2021:
- Goat, Axolotl, Glow Squid
- Geodes, Tinted Glass, Copper, Lightning Rod, Powder Snow, Lush Cave blocks, Dripstone Cave blocks, Deepslate + Ore Variants, Glow Lichen
- Spyglass, Crystals, Glow Ink

Minecraft 1.18, planned for release late 2021:
- Warden (not confirmed yet)
- Sculk blocks (not confirmed yet)
- New Mountains and Caves, including Lush Caves
- World height increase

Archaeology was announced at Minecraft Live 2020 however it is now deferred to an unknown future release.
