Located in Britain’s colonial India, the school was built by the British in 1919 (and still stands without cracks or damage). Built of concrete, it consists of 81 rooms including classrooms, labs, offices, an auditorium, drawing hall and a new library. After Pakistan gained independence, it was affiliated with the University of Sindh. In 1964, under a presidential directive, the school became known as Government Pilot Secondary School. Four vocational workshops were introduced and it was later upgraded to Government Pilot Higher Secondary School. The headmaster (now known as principal) was increased from six to eight years headmaster in 1994.
Current Leadership (2025)
The school is headed by its Principal Sir Zahid Hussain Hulio. Its First Vice Principal is Sir Mumtaz Ali Shahani and Second Vice Principal is Sir Shoqat Ali Markhand, these two supremely serve the students and continue the legacy of this institution.
