a pv headcanon i just thought of :3

cw: internalized transphobia + toxic gender stereotypes



so i hc pure vanilla as trans, meaning all the jazz it does
but this also comes with my addition that after the dark flour war (and generally his failures as a king and friend), he began to feel like he wasn't a 'true man' due to twisted gender roles/stereotypes he has built up

though he doesn't believe women are weak, he believes that men, specifically men in power, have to be strong, and cant be weak

so to make himself more 'manly' in his eyes, he shuts out negative emotions, trying to suppress them and be stronger

this in turn obviously slows his healing from all the trauma he's endured, making him believe his failures are more defining of his identity, and that it's 'proof' he isn't a 'real man', which only encourages his self destructive behavior more !


dw, it doesnt stay all bad, as i also envision a scenario where he's caring for dark cacao as he's venting through his own stuff and everything that happened, and watching him be vulnerable and break a little
it would open his eyes more to see a cis guy be 'unmanly', probably confuse him at first, but he knows that 1) dark cacao is still strong nonetheless 2) the vulnerability is helping him

the way he views gender would reconstruct in his mind as he grows to realize (eventually) that hey, men are absolutely allowed to be weak and fuck up and it doesnt define anyone, especially not him
