Wally Whyton Unofficial Fan Club

After my son was born, I picked up some children's records in a junk shop and took them home. There were a couple of Wally Whyton records amongst them. They didn't get played immediately, but when they did my wife commented that they were quite good. I ordered a couple more from Discogs and pretty soon my son grew to like them. He now often chooses to have a record on instead of the TV, and tells us which "Whyton" he wants on. After a bit of research, I ordered a copy of Wally's Children Songs Of Woody Guthrie from Bear Family Records in Germany and it quickly became my son's favourite. Now aged 2, he often asks for "Finger in the Air" or wants us to sing "Ocean Go". For his 2nd birthday, I got him the 6 LP Treasury set of Wally's children's songs.

We now also have a Vipers CD set and Wally's 3 grown-up albums, and love them. Why is he not more famous? Why is his music so hard to track down? He should be better known, the music is so good. Maybe this channel will help a little.
