This is my videogame archive, the vast majority of videogames uploaded in here are just to showcase my nightly plays.
You will also often hear my companions playing alongside me, enjoy!
Be aware, the premieres always have a lower quality than the final video. If you are sucker for maximum definition I suggest you wait the premiere to end before watching :)

Ehi there, while exploring various recording and encoding techniques, I found that forcing the up-scaling of my videos to 4K resolution (specifically for the 16:9 aspect ratio videos) compels YouTube to render these videos in VP9 codec. This is a substantial improvement as VP9 is far superior to MP4 in terms of encoding quality.
The VP9 codec, developed by Google, offers better compression efficiency, which means higher quality videos at smaller file sizes. This is particularly beneficial for viewers as it provides a smoother streaming experience, especially for those with slower internet connections.
Now, you might be wondering about the cost of this up-scaling. From my tests, it results in ~2.1% of CPU usage during recording. This is a trade-off I am comfortable with, considering the noticeable improvement in video quality and the fact I am rendering only half of the usual amount of pixels due to the smaller aspect ratio.
It’s important to note that this technique benefits exclusively 16:9 videos. For videos with a 32:9 aspect ratio, they already meet YouTube’s criteria for triggering the newer encoding standard, so they won’t be affected by this change.
Expect all new videos starting from the end of this week to have VP9 or AV1 encoding by default.
