WHY I DO THIS

Was feeling reflective today so I decided to share the origin story behind this channel.

Who am I? I’m just a guy that like to share knowledge about one of my favorite software programs - Microsoft Excel.

I started this channel about Excel back about ten years ago. About that time, I'd experienced a bad boss. I survived a year of anxiety and uncertainty and the following year I thought I needed to develop some skill or do something really well.

I decided to be good at Excel and put up videos as proof of my knowledge so I could have a portfolio to show at future job interviews.

But I didn’t expect a lot of people to watch them but some did. I didn’t expect anyone to say they got something positive from these videos but they did.

These videos helped. They helped people. Helped them with their homework, with their test, with their projects. But it also helped me.

It helped by giving me back the feeling of self worth.

So after about 900 videos I think I know a little bit more about Excel and grateful to what I can do to help others learn. Hopefully they learn more than just the skill and no matter what others say...they CAN…DO…IT.

If you've seen YouTube #short videos (i.e., vertical display, less than 1 minute) do you like Microsoft Excel tips in that format?
