Thank you friends for all of your support and love throughout the years. Our community has grown so much and I’m so happy I can share my passion! Every like, comment and share has helped shape this space into something so special!
Hello friends! Welcome to the Downtown Tailoring community, where you can make discussion posts for us to chat all about sewing! Feel free to share projects, ask questions, and let's make a community! I'm so grateful for you all! 🥰
As some of you know, I have a small experimental channel where I follow my creative whims; usually making clothes at scale. Sometimes it’s for Miss Inch, my half-scale mannequin, and lately for my 1/3 BJD doll.
In my latest video, I made a basic pattern block for her using the same method I teach in my online pattern-making course. So if you’ve ever wondered what that class is all about, this is a great little summary of the process, just in miniature! 👗✂️
✨If you’ve taken the course already, I’d love your opinion . Did I explain it clearly? Does it feel like a good mini-version of what we covered? Let me know in the comments of the video or here!
Thank you, as always, for supporting both my serious and my playful sewing projects 💛
Sometimes, ripped jeans (intentionally) can become TOO ripped! When that happens, the whole knee is out! But there is no need to throw them out, it can be easily repaired, just as I show in this quick tutorial:
I took YOUR advice, concerns and feedback from the recent video where I tried an embroidery loom to try a worn out jeans crotch patch to make a patch that is just as strong and durable as it is aesthetic!
Go check it out and let me know which style you prefer more!!
“Taking YOUR feedback to make a jeans patch with visible mending! (that looks good and works)” https://youtu.be/SspX7u4mof4
In my newest video, I show a unique way of making the jeans waistband bigger. Please let me know if you prefer the colourful pattern or the jeans material for the insert … not sure
