This is a music, and story channel mainly of the roots types music I play on harp, guitar, piano, and some ukulele. Specifically it relates to my over 4 decades of playing, and touring with players like R.L. Burnside, Eddie "Guitar" Burns, learning harp from Curtis Salgado, touring with Richard Ray Farrell in Europe, and others. Special guests will include my girlfriend Rosalia, and some of our 12 parrots, iguana, cat, 9 ducks, 5 goats, 2 miniature donkeys, miniature pig, 1 pheasant, and 2 chickens we live with at our hobby farm/sanctuary.
My email is jonbeckleymorris@gmail.com for questions, or private lessons on Harp, Mississippi Blues Guitar, and piano by ear.
Hope you enjoy the channel.

Well, I'm back home now.

Thank you, all you beautiful great people for your wonderfully kind words, thoughts and prayers!

It's a slow road ahead. I will keep working on improving little by little.

As one of the workers I met in the hospital named Ivan said when I was overwhelmed with despair and sadness over past losses:

"What can you do? You just got to keep on keeping on until you can't no more."

Jon thanks everyone for their support and prayers. And he's very grateful for all you folks that care about him. He wants to try to get better and continue teaching.

He's really frail and weak, but he's determined to do all his physical therapy exercises to get stronger. It will take some time.

But his mind is sharp. That's the best part of all!

Goodbye, hospital room. Thank you.

Jon is out of the regular hospital and is now at a rehabilitation hospital.

He is learning how to walk and do things again. He feels like he is starting his life all over again from the very beginning.

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts, prayers and support.

Jon is out of the ICU and off the feeding tube.

This is a view from Jon's new room.

His voice is much stronger. He is still very weak and cannot stand up yet. He does a little physical therapy every day. Also, occupational therapy and speech therapy.

He will need to move to a rehabilitation facility next.

His mind is coming back nicely. Thank God!

I gave him one of his harmonicas so he can start practicing.

Hi Everyone,

Jon's seizures are under control and they took him off the ventilator, so he is breathing on his own now. He is asleep most of the time.

He is very, very weak. When he tries to talk, there is very little sound and he is using all his might to get it out.

He can't move on his own so they have this thingamabob attached to the ceiling where they put him in a sling and hook him up to it, and it lifts and carries him across the room so that they can transport him from the bed to a recliner chair to give him some movement.

The two nurses operating it, while attending to Jon, were talking to each other about some upcoming concerts they were looking forward to. One of them told the other, "When you have the opportunity to hear live music, you shouldn't pass it up."

I could see that Jon was struggling to be part of the conversation, but his faint voice could not be heard.

When one nurse left, the other leaned in to hear what he was trying to say, as he kept repeating, until she finally heard him.

"Oh, you play music too!" she said.

His eyes lit up and he smiled.

I told her he plays on his YouTube channel. She said she will check it out.

He's having a hard time communicating and being understood right now. I see the frustration in his eyes.

But he's in there.

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for your kind thoughts and prayers. Jon is still in critical condition, but they are doing everything imaginable to help him and monitoring him around the clock.

Right now, he is on a breathing machine and sedated. They put him in a medically induced coma to rest his brain activity as much as possible to hopefully get his seizures to subside. After a couple of days, they will slowly lower the amount of sedation, and if successful, the seizures will have subsided.

He is in a deep sleep. Even though he hasn't been conscious, I have been at his bedside, letting him know that a lot of people care about him and are sending their prayers. I brought one of his harmonicas and have been playing some notes, so maybe the sounds can reach him deep down wherever his mind is at right now.

Pray for a miracle.
This is Rosalia, Jon's partner asking you all to pray for a miracle.
I brought Jon to the ER on Tuesday and that night, they had to perform emergency brain surgery. He's is experiencing a seizure that will not subside. The doctor said she is going to have to put him on a breathing machine as a last resort and it is usually downhill from there. She said she tried many things today and they didn't stop the seizure, but she has just one more thing she can try first before putting him on a ventilator.

He is mostly incoherent now, but he told her to do everything she can. He said he wants to live. He has almost finished a deal for a CD and he wrote a book that he wants to publish, both related to the time he spent with R.L. Burnside.

The doctor told me that Jon is very kind. And he is! He is so self-sacrificing and loves animals and wants to save them all. He is my best friend, a unique being, a very gentle soul. Thank you for your kind thought and prayers!
