We are WSLR: Why Sarasota Loves Radio.
WSLR 96.5 LPFM began broadcasting in August 2005 as a non-commercial, volunteer-powered community radio station based in Sarasota–Bradenton, Florida. The station was founded in 2004 and is a proud Pacifica affiliate, promoting peace, social and economic justice, sustainability, democracy, and freedom of expression through independent media.
WSLR is more than radio. Through our venue, the Fogartyville Community Media and Arts Center, we host over 60 live concerts a year, along with civic forums, film screenings, and educational events. We also provide low-cost space to like-minded nonprofit organizations.
This channel features full-length concerts, intimate acoustic sets, and exclusive live performances from local, regional, and touring artists. You’ll find folk, jazz, Americana, world, indie music, and more — all rooted in a mission to build community through culture.
