Running Steam on ARM with Fex. Installation of Fex is not that hard on Ubuntu. Unfortunately I didn't get a driver working for the GPU, so it's very slow on my Radxa Rock 5B with the Rockchip RK3588.
Next step is Box86 and Box64 on Armbian with kernel 6.14 and hopefully Vulkan.

Anyone managed to get x86 emulation working with Fedora 42 ARM, other than on an ARM Mac? In the end I went with Box64 on my Libre Computer Alta (Amlogic A311D), but I didn't get it fully integrated.

Installing Steam on a Raspberry Pi 5 with Box64 and Box32. Box32 is new and still needs some work, but I hope it will get to the same level as Box86.
Running Steam games on ARM has become fairly easy.
I need to figure out what went wrong on my Libre Computer Alta with Fedora 42.

I tested some things with the Ubuntu image for the Orange Pi RV2 RISC-V SBC. There seems to be an issue with the GFX driver, but video decoding is working with local files.
You can run Llama.cpp, Stable Diffusion through OnnxStream and even play a game like Battle for Wesnoth.

My Orange Pi RV2 RISC-V SBC finally arrived. The 8GB model sold out quickly, so this is from the second batch.
It's a pity they don't sell a case for it. Now I got it sort of fitted in a modular Raspberry Pi case. I only got one screw in position and one side panel.
After flipping the top panel, I was able to get the fan in a better position (not in the video).

Building a new image with the Armbian Build Tool took around 17 minutes on my Radxa Rock 5B, 100mbit internet connection and even running from a micro SD card.
Today Collabora also announced that PanVK is Vulkan 1.1 conformant. Keep an eye on the Oibaf PPA, or build from source.

I built a new kernel for Armbian. With the edge branch I got kernel 6.14.
Vulkan is looking better and better on the ARM Rockchip RK3588.
I'm able to start (but not play) some games with RPCS3, and even llama.cpp is working with Vulkan (but only SmolLM2-135M).
Big thanks to Collabora and Armbian!

Want to try more models with PocketPal AI (run LLMs locally on your smartphone)?
You can easily download more models from Hugging Face.
You can try quantized models for more speed (but less accuracy).
